I've again updated my post, this time including parking rates at & around DTW, to help guide people for reference (as well as parking overages).
One more tip:
restaurant.com has certificates for $25 off $35 at the Clarion's restaurant available for $5 (with discount code-Google it... you might get it for $4). It's a good way to feed a family for cheap (full mediocore buffet for $10, burger-and-fries for $7). If you have access to an area Entertainment Book, there's buy one-get one coupons at both the Clarion and Hilton's resturants. The former is good on the morning breakfast buffet upgrade ($6pp).
I use to get the Qwik Park coupons weekly, but I haven't gotten them in awhile. Early this year I got a couple coupons good via 12/31/07, but the most recent (mid this year) are good only via mid-07 (like the website). Perhaps Qwik Park is moving away from the coupons.
The coupon rate for the La Quinta is $89 (expring 12/31/06) or $99 (expiring 12/31/07). The most recent Qwik Park coupons lack the park-and-fly coupons... but you can get the $99 rate via Expedia, etc. -- prepaid + fees!!!
