Just a thought, but the difference is probably that DTD has free parking. You would still be told it is 3 hours at Poly, Contemporary or GF because MK parking isn't free.

Here's my issue. I own DVC at both BWV and BLT. I have watched cars drive into the BLT lot, park, and the people get out and walk to MK. I've watched empty front row spaces at BW fill up at dinner time.....then empty out about 15 mins after IllumiNations ends. It would be nice if Disney had resort parking lots that are keyed entry. With a particular area for 'day guests'....if they stay longer than a set time, they have to pay for that parking.

I just don't think the resorts that don't have immediate park access have a parking problem. Most of the moderate and value resorts have plenty of available parking.....especially if non-resort people take spaces that aren't up front. Those spots should be left for those paying to stay at the resort....just common courtesy.

I like that idea. DTD parking at DLR in California has this in place. When you enter the DTD parking, you get a timestamped ticket. The first 3 hours (5 hours with shopping/restaurant validation) are free. If you stay over that time, you pay on the way out. This allows free parking for guests wanting to shop or dine, but prevents folks from using the lot for all-day theme park access.

My opinion is that resort parking should be reserved for resort guests and anyone there for a meal... with the 3 hour window.

If going to DTD and not staying at POFQ, POR etc. then the guest should use other transportation.

I for one find that the parking spaces near the main building at POR are not plentiful and should be there for staff and resort guests.
