We booked with Allegiant Air and are flying out of Bangor. What are the best park and fly options in Bangor? We have never flown out of Bangor - it is about five hours away but the deal was too good to pass up!!

I'd be interested in the answers you get! :surfweb: We're looking at flying out of Bangor next year. I've done a little research this past fall and I believe that the Holiday Inn and the Bangor Motor Inn both do "park and fly" but I'm not 100% sure. Also there's a Sheraton right at the airport (pricey though I'm sure).

I've never actually done this - but did the research because this is what we were going to do for our May '09 trip but then I realized that I wasn't getting a direct flight from BGR to MCO - so I sucked it up, paid the extra ..sigh...$1,000 and got direct flights from Hfx. Anyway, we always go to Maine so I think I know every hotel in the area. But as far as the park and fly, the Doubletree Hotel is so insanely close to the airport (as are many hotels) and they offered up to 2 weeks park and fly for free with 1 nights accomodations. Now in saying that, the park and fly free rate was about 20.00 more than the standard room rate, but parking for 14 days for 20.00 is so cheap, its like its free.

The other hotel we like to stay in which is also close to the airport is The Comfort Inn (the one with the Ground Round in the parking lot) - but to be honest, for some reason I think I trust my vehicle at the Doubletree more.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the airport itself didn't have a park and fly.

Have fun, next time we go the kids will be older (they're now 7, 6 and 2) so maybe I'll do the non-direct flight and if we do I will definately go to Maine. I think its a great idea because I had planned on a day or two of shopping before I came home, and I could have brought SO much stuff with me!!! Oh well, next time!!

We have flown from Bangor each time except the first trip.

The Sheraton is connected to the airport by skywalk and offers a park n' fly.

Hampton Inn also offers one and shuttle service to the airport.

Hilton has just opened a new garden inn in Bangor as well. Not sure if they offer the service or not.

(There is no Doubletree in Bangor)

Good luck! Let us know where you end up.

I just booked a night at the Days Inn $84 plus $3.50 a night for your car free shuttle to the airport.

Looked into other hotels and the Park & Fly rates where.....

4 Points Sheratan $165 no extra for your car and attached to airport.
Holiday Inn $129.95 no extra for car free shuttle to airport

Weekly Parking rate at Bangor Airport $42

Thanks for letting me know about Doubletree I couldn't find it...We stayed in Bangor a few years ago on our way through to the White Mountains and I can't remember what it was called but it was pretty run down and dirty...it was near the Holidy Inn because we went there for breakfast. We don't need fancy, just clean and a safe place to park...the $84 Days Inn sounds good...I assume it is clean and suitable...
I have never flown from Bangor and hope it all goes smooth we have 11 people travelling together with 4 kids...

last time we flew out of Bangor we stayed at the Travellodge room was cheep and good enough for a 1 night stay ( most of the hotels in Odlin Rd area in bangor offer a park & fly and are only about 10 min from airport )

Check the parking rates at the airport ,I believe they are around $7 a day but im not sure its been a while since I looked into it.The information on parking rates are available on the airport site.Just the added convenience of having your vehicle at the airport may be worth a few extra dollars especially if you dont plan on staying in Bangor over night on your return.Just a thought:confused3 The airport there is easily accessable from the 95, maybe 3 lights to go through and Bangor /Brewer are very easy to get around so really location isnt that big of a deal.Personally Im a sucker for convenience so Id just use the covered walkway from the Sheraton, lol
