We go to wdw every year and love it. Going to paris for 5 nights...is it worth spending the day at disney paris?
Let me know your thoughts please.
Also while were at it...if you've been to paris the city what would be your top must do there...

Thanks!!!

Sorry, Ive never been but Paris (and DLP) are on my bucket list. If you are going to be there, I would for sure go. Not like you can go anytime. Ive heard some of the rides are very cool. Different versions of what you would find at MK

No, the time and money it costs is not worth it compared to all the things you can do in Paris.

if you want to take a day trip, Versailles and Normandy are much better if only in Paris for 5 days

If you just want some Paris Disney merchandise, there is a Disney store on the Champs-Élysées.

I go to Disney every year, but with 5 days in Paris there is SOOOO much you can see do:

Watch the Eiffel Tower light show from the Trocadaro
St Michel
St Chapel
Sacre Coeur
Notre Dame
Hotel Invalides and Napoleons Tomb
Palace at Versailles
Victor Hugos home (where he lived when he wrote Le Miserables)
The countless shopping areas with wine stores, cheese stores
the Latin Quarter
Catacombs
Seine River Tour
The Louvre
Musee D'orsay
Lovers bridge
Pont Neuf
Wine tastings (O'Chateau is BY FAR my favorite)

Seriously....this is really without even thinking

If I were going to Paris, I would totally spend 1-2 days at DLP. Other than Normandy, this would be my biggest draw.

I'd check it out, at least one day. I have a goal to go to ALL of the Disney parks, though Tokyo is number one on my To-Do list. I think it'd be worth seieng a different cultural take on the whole thing.

We live in the UK and visit DLP regularly. I love it I grew up going and have some wonderful memories from going when I was younger.

Is it like DL or WDW? No it's very different there isn't any of the friendly CM service.
Rides big thunder mountain is on a separate island in frontier land, space mountain is amazing more like RnR, POTC is much better the drops are a lot bigger. If you go read the story about phantom Manor before.
Characters don't happen very often. there are unorganized character meets and greets. There are no lines for these literally just scrums adults will literally elbow you/your child out the way to get to them.
At the moment there are no shows in the main park which is a bit poor to me. There is a parade and dreams the night time show is amazing.
If you plan to eat any where go to walts it is a restaurant looking over Main Street if you time it right and are lucky enough to get a window seat you can watch the parade whilst you eat.
Other DLP only must see's the dragon under the castle. I always thought it was maleficent makes sense being sleeping beauty's castle. But apparently it is Merlin's dragon :/
If you only have limited time there isn't much in the studios park tot and RnR are pretty much the same toy storyland and the crush ride are good though.

If you have any other questions I don't mind answering as much as I can.

Have you checked out Tom Bricker's blog *****************.com ? He has some great trip reports and pictures with tips on touring DLP. You should check it out.

Musee D'orsay (best museum in Paris, IMHO)

For lots of people it wouldn't be worth taking a day out of a Paris trip to do Disney when there are so many wonderful attractions in the city itself. However if you are a Disney fan (and i assume you are as you are on this forum) then yes, it's totally worth it.

Disneyland Paris has two great parks, near enough to walk from one to the other. It is less likely to be hot than Florida and the attractions are closer together so you can get more done in a day than at WDW. It's got the authentic Disney quality and detail and it's fun to hear announcements and characters talking in French. I'd go for it if i was you !

Yep worth it for one day- easy train ride from Paris. Something you don't have to decide to you are there- just see how you go- if you want to spend the last day in Paris or jump on the train to DLP.

My brother-in-law was stationed in Germany in the Army a few years back. We visited him and took a day trip to Disney Paris. I am glad we went but in retrospect, there are probably other things I would have rather done being in Paris. If I were just going to be in Paris for several days, I think its worth a visit. But if your time is limited or you are visiting multiple places in Europe, I think there's better places to go.

I did DLRP when I went to Paris. I did do 3 days at DLRP but if I had only had one, I still would have been glad I went.

Favorite things I did in Paris:

Notre Dame
Musee D'Orsay (I agree, best museum)
Louvre
Versailles
Seine River Tour
Segway City Tour

I was able to visit Paris last summer and insisted I also visit DLP! It was worth it to me, but it is not like the US parks.

I am a huge disney fan, so there was appeal for me to visit. However; this may not be the same for everyone!

I also agree with PP about taking the train from Paris...super easy!! This may also help you decide when you are there.

Have a wonderful trip to Paris...I can't wait to go back:)

Wouldnt be a question for us, if i'm in a city with a Disney Park i'm there. However with all the other amazing things to see and do I would do just one (not the 3-10 we would do in the US parks)

It's not technically IN Paris though..it's a couple trains away (depending on where you are coming from in the city).

I guess I am just different than most, but I LOVE Disney, but Paris has too much to offer and not enough difference between DLP and WDW to justify the actual cost and what I would miss in Paris. ($100 each (approx) single day tickets plus food, drinks etc.)

I'll never forget this pic as a kid growing up. Looking at Hitler standing at one of his idols tomb (Napoleon), it felt old, it looked old. Then I got to Paris, I stood where Hitler stood...... realizing our country is a little over 200 years old and you can walk in buildings 3/4 times older than our country.

If you go, I am sure you will enjoy it, but the things in Paris open late (10 am for most things) and all I will advise is to not rush anything. Don't rush Musee D'Orsay..if you only want to do one portion...do it right.

Try and experience a little of the french culture, not just the way we fast paced americans do it.

Find a cafe, sit down, eat a crepe, order a cheese plate, drink some wine and sit and talk for an hour or two.

Bye the way, coke or bottled water is more expensive than house wines in most restaurants...enjoy it!!

We went to DLP for a day on our second visit to Paris. As Disney lovers we enjoyed our day there and we would like to go back again. I also agree that Phantom Manor and the dragon under the castle are not to be missed. We also had fun in the Alice maze. The architecture and design elements are beautiful so take time to look up and around to appreciate them. At the Studio we enjoyed CineMagique.

As far as Paris, among our favorites:

Louvre
Musée d'Orsay
Eiffel Tower (well worth going to the top, lights at night)
Notre Dame
Cluny tapestries
walking around the Latin Quarter
Seine River tour
The food!

I think it completely depends on your priorities and those of your traveling companions. As other posters have said, DLP is NOT DLR or WDW. The feel is very different. Many attractions are in French (like the HM), so you have to decide if you would find that novel or annoying. You might find the whole experience enchanting or you might leave disappointed. The better you understand that DLP is NOT an American Disney park, the better chance you have of liking it.

Paris is a wonderful city and there is more to do than you could accomplish in 5 days. If you visit the Louvre or Musee d'Orsay, I recommend the guided tour. This is a great introduction to the museums and the major works of art. The Louvre in particular is enormous and can quickly overwhelm even a seasoned art lover.

I also recommend:

Notre Dame
a river cruise on the Seine
Eiffel Tower
Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Elysees
Versailles (which is a day trip out of the city)

Have a great time!

Paris is a wonderful city and what ever you decide i am sure you will enjoy it. Take an open top tour bus ride of the city. This will give you a great feel for the city and where everything is. You can get on and off them all day for a fixed price. They will provide headphones with the tour in English.

DLP imo is rather unimpressive when compared to WDW. I have found the CM's there to be rude and unfriendly. It really is a poor imitation. It is also for a lot of the year freezing cold!!

Go if you need a day away from museums and gallerias but don't expect to be wowed.

We plan on taking a 2nd trip to Paris in the next year or two. First one was 14 years ago. Can't believe that!
Never been to DLP. We are going to Paris for 7 or 8 nights & plan on going to DLP for one day. My DD (10) really wants to see it and so do I! DH, not so much.
But if I only had 5 nights I think we would skip DLP. So much to see and do in the City of Lights!
