Hello all, just joined and have enjoyed reading all your experience especially of Disneyland Paris. Myself, my 17 year old son and my 10 year old daughter will be travelling for the first time to DisneyParis next month - we cannot wait we are already so excited. We've never been to any Disney Park and it can't come soon enough. We are a little concerned about the weather though!! Has anyone been in February before? Will it be freezing? Wet? What clothing would you advise? We are staying three nights at the Newport hotel, it looks great but I have read so many mixed reviews that I'm not sure what to expect from it. Also everyone talks about 'getting there' but what about 'getting home'? Is it easy to get back to CDG?

And we'd like to spend some of that time in Paris, doing the tourist things..can anyone advise me on that? Also, we speak no french, son 'does' it in school but assures me won't be trying out his skills!!

We are travelling from Dublin - thanks in advance for any new advice you can give me - quite nervous already!!

Hi!!

Welcome to the site. I have only recently joined the site too. I am going in february during half term and I have gone over board on woolie items!! Someone on here recommended hand warmers as well, you can buy them off ebay and they keep your hands warm for hours. If you want any I'll find the post which gave the link?

I have looked on one of the fancy weather sites and it says that the average temperature for feb is about 7 degrees. I haven't yet found a site that gives long range weather (but will post info about it if I do) Someone else will be along shortly with some more helpful info though!! Everyone is very helpful and friendly on this site!!

:wave2:

We went in February 2005 and it was very cold! So cold I wore my ski salopettes and DH wore his ski suit! You really need thermals + lots of layers, very warm coats, hat, gloves, scarves, thermal socks, thinsulate boots etc.
To be specific I wore: thermal vest and long johns, long-sleeved top, thin fleece, jumper, big, puffy coat, salopettes, 1 pair normal socks & 1 pair
thermal socks, thinsulate boots (Barratt's version of Timberlands), ski gloves, hat, Turtle Neck (like a scarf but actually a tube of fleecy material).
I think that was it! I know this sounds a little OTT but we were nice and warm. There were an awful lot of people who looked very cold and miserable which doesn't make for a fun time at all!
We also had a few yummy hot chocolates on Main Street which helped.:cool1:

OH MY GOODNESS! Well thanks for the replies, - leanne - that hand warming site seems useful if you could find it!!!!
And Sarah - thanks for the info - I def need to stock up on MORE thermals!!
And now I can justify that new winter coat that I havn't bought yet!!
:goodvibes

We went last Jan/Feb and it was so freezing.:scared:

We took warm clothes but thermals would have been great. Anyone any idea where i would buy thermals?:confused3 We are going Feb 14th.

I've never had the need before.:beach:

Wew purchased our thermals from Peacocks and they are the one item I would not go without.

Wear a pair of tights under your jeans as well - you would be surprised how much warmer they keep your legs.

Enjoy :goodvibes

The cheapest ones that I could find were these ones;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HAND-WARMERS-...18QQihZ007QQcategoryZ1514QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

There are plenty on ebay and some other sites though. These will last most the day. I did look at reusable ones but they only last for about 30 minutes.

The other thing that was recommended was to pack plenty of waterproofs. I have bought waterproof jackets and trousers for the whole family. You can get them quite cheap from the cheaper sports shops.

After reading your post I had a look and I wondered what the best ones would be, didn't find any this cheap though - thanks for that link.:thumbsup2
We've been twice in March, last year was reasonable, we didn't even need gloves most days, but in 2004 it was bitterly cold, if I do get to book up for this March I'm taking some of these just in case.:)

I have bought enough thermals etc to keep the whole park warm! My husband thinks I'm crazy. But then he does go around in a t shirt in winter!!!!

Thanks Sarah, i will have a look in Peacocks on Thurs. Also thanks for the tip, my legs were freezing even under my jeans.:scared1:

With regards to the hand warmers, you can normally buy them in golf shops too. DH buys them for when he plays golf in the winter.

Thanks guys.:thumbsup2

I'm off shopping on Thursday so i'll try Primark, M & S and Peacocks then.;)

I got my daughter some thermal vests from BHS a couple of weeks ago.
They were in the sale a pack of 2 reduced to £3.50 from £5.
So plenty of shops to choose from :)

We've always found the best thing is lots of layers and a fairly lightweight waterproof coat. Take a couple of pairs of gloves, especially if they're woolly ones, just in case it's wet. In '04 I ended up buying several pairs at the park, so we could change them throughout the day and dry them by the heater in the room at night. Take plenty of lip salve or vaseline, especially if you've little ones at the dribbling stage, my youngest got very chapped and sore on that visit.
Definately take a hat, even DH bought one with Mickey Mouse on and he is so undisney - it really was that cold, last year he took his Beanie.
Bought some thermal socks from tescos for the boys this morning £3.00 for 2 pairs which I thought was reasonable.:goodvibes
