Okay, so, I'm in Gr.12 and I'm graduating next week. In August-September, Disney (as some of you might know) has free dining plan till the 15th. I want to go with my two best friends. We're all taking a year off before we go to college. I've been to Disney World five times and one of my other friends has been there a couple times too. But my other friend hasn't (I don't think she has ever really been on a vacation). I don't know if my mom will let me go though. I went in January with one of my cousins (who is 21) and she was even nervous about that. I know my way around the airport...I know where to go before boarding the plane and I know where to go when I get off the plane. And Disney does everything for you (takes care of your luggage, takes you to your hotel, etc.) Do you think I should be allowed to go?

P.S. I'll be 18 by then and both of my friends will be 19.

I think so. Disney is a very safe place and since you know your way around. I don't see any reason why not. I went alone when I was 21. Its a few years difference but I had the same travel experience. I had no problems at all.

yes, i lived at disney for 2 semesters when I was 20 & 21 it is a great time & very safe. I hope she says yes :)

you sound very mature about the whole thing. if you make a good proposal, i would hope she'd say yes. especially as it is a place you are already familiar with. going to a strange or unfamiliar location would be a harder sell. think about what you are going to say, stress the positives, and make sure you point out you know the airport, you'll take the Magical Express bus, you know your way around the resort and parks, etc.

It may also not hurt to point out that with going away to college you'd be on your own anyways in the not-too-distant future.

That being said... I'd pretty much agree with the other posters. Make a good case and I don't see why not. Just point out you are familiar with the place, and Disney does a very good job limiting your options for getting into trouble. ;)

I think as long as you make a valid case for your folks, you shouldn't have a problem. You and your friends will be responsible, you will be financing it yourself, and you are 18. Plan out your trip, and have some fun with your friends!

When I was your age, I asked my parents to take a road trip to buffalo with some friends. My Mom gave a flat out no, but my dad calmly reminded her that I was responsible, I was 18, and I would be paying for it. They couldn't stop me from enjoying my time as a young adult with my friends. So if one parent is more opposed than the other, ask them to make a case for you! And give them every reason to trust you!
