Parents, what's your rule re: Halloween candy?

Teenagers with no costumes also get Dum Dums and bubble gum.

I've got the treat bags with a few small items for the teenagers and the full size candy for the little kids.

Last year, we had about 15-20 teenagers, mostly with no costume, and one of the groups did some pretty good damage with toilet paper, eggs, smashed pumpkins, and broke some of the neighbors' mailboxes and lightposts (at the end of long driveways). Even the teenagers that are good kids can cover a lot more territory, and get a lot more candy, than the little kids.

I let him eat what he wants. He NEVER eats it all- I throw the rest of it away in a month.

Okay, I win the bad mother award. Our kids just eat the candy, as much as they want. When they're done with it they throw it away but really there's not usually a whole lot left.

We don't go to too many houses so it's never a HUGE stash, but what they get is their's to do what they like with. It's once a year. Works for us.

That's what we did when I was a kid. And we never had any to throw out. And that's what my son does now. Course, my husband and I help him eat it.

Usually the first night we get alot then just like 2-3 the rest and after about 2 weeks the rest gets takin to our freinds and work cause the ants get into it.

I always wear a costume, What a waste of time not to.
