To all of the parents that have twins I need some help!

I am having a baby shower for my girlfriend on August 13th. I have already gotten her a bunch of stuff, but the last thing that I want to get for her is a diaper bag.

She is having twins and I am looking for suggestions as to which one to get for her. The one that she registered for is no longer available.

So what do you suggest?

Thanks!

I have twins and personally did not use a regular diaper bag. I did have one from my previous children but found that it just wasnt big enough to go anywhere longer than a 2 hr trip to go shopping at the mall. Instead I used a denim tote bag which was much deeper and was able to hold as much as needed especially when going out for long day trips. It almost reminded me of a beach bag the way it was designed, deep like that with a zipper on top, with pockets on each side of the bag. If your friend has her heart set on a traditional diaper bag then try to find a really good size one if possible, she will thank you for it!!

My twins are 13 but I appreciated a good back bag with lots of compartments.
Never have matching outfits as they are not always the same size at the same time.
Outfits for 3 to 4 yr olds are the best gifts as we get lots of infant wear.
Wow. Baby showers are so appreciated!

I agree with getting a back pack, just a regular back pack works, but there are many diaper bag backpacks out there. It is just one less thing to have in your hands with the twins.

I got a beautiful diaper bag from Vera Bradley :sunny: Which....went unused for the 1st 4 or 5 months as I was too busy to even leave the house w/ them!!! :rotfl: Honestly, the suggestion of a backpack type one is good, but not everyone likes that style.... :rotfl: what did she originally want?

Hi,
My twins are 3 and I had a diaper bag that was a backpack and I loved it! I got used to carrying both babies in their carriers (say when I went to visit friends or family), so the last thing I needed was one more item hanging on my arm, so I have to also highly recommend the backpack style diaper bags. I got mine from Burlington coat factory (baby depot), but Babies R US probably has them as well, I'm sure! Mine was all black, so it really didn't even look like a diaper bag, it was great.

My twins are three also (vegasnative!). I never had a real diaper bag...for what reason I don't know! I didn't have a shower, maybe that's why!

I would recommend a backpack-style bag also -- and maybe two of them. I had some backpacks lying around and so I would stuff one with diapers/wipes and the other with food stuff.

I like backpack style for multiple moms bec. you can put it on your back and not necessarily have things hanging off your shoulder. Also, some regular diaper bags are hard to get under strollers - put in or take out. So backpacks are awesome!

And definately....cannot reiterate this enough.....2-3-4 yr old clothing is awesome as previous poster said. We were overwhelmed with newbie outfits -- tons and tons of them to the point we didn't wear some at all or only once and that is a shame! Also...two boppy pillows are necessary.

HOpe this helps!

I did use a regular diaper bag. No problem fitting everything in. If she's planning to nurse the babies, she won't need a huge bag since there is no need to carry bottles or formula. Lots of my friends with singletons are raving about the Skip-hop bags.

I'm not sure why 2 boppys are necessary... one for 2 different "nursing stations"? I quickly found a boppy and even a Hugster brand pillow to be too small - the E Z Twin nursing pillow worked much better!

I'd definitely agree that clothing in bigger sizes is better - but I'd go for 6-9 month or 9-12 month. With clothes in the 3T-4T range there is too much chance for wrong season, wrong fit, etc.

If you wanted to get something really nice for her, why not something like a Maxi-mom carrier?

Gift idea: how about a subscription to Twins magazine? You can give your friend a 1yr or 2yr paid subscription to this magazine. I have boy/girl twins, 8 yrs. old. I used to subscribe to this magazine from before my twins were born until last yr. I really enjoyed the articles in the mag., plus there are nice advertisements in the mag. for things mother of twins need, ie. twin boppies, strollers, and hard to find things that parent of twins can use.

flagdaytwins,
Hi, I am assuming that your twins were born on June 14? Are they boy/boy, boy/girl, girl/girl? Fraternal? Mine were born Oct. 30 and are fraternal boys. :hyper2: They have been a lot of work, but worth every bit of it! Do you have other kids? We have a 1 1/2 year old also...another boy!! :p
