My husband and I are planning a date night during our September trip. We are staying at the Poly and currently have a reservation for our children at the Poly's Neverland Club. Since we are planning to spend our time at World Showcase in Epcot, I'm wondering if we should change our reservation to the Sandcastle Club at the Beach Club. Thoughts? I'm not sure how much time to allow for travel from Epcot to Poly and I'm not sure what the penalty would be if we arrived a few minutes late to pick up our kids. Our current reservation is 5:30 to 8:30. Thank you for any advice. I love the forums.

Since you're staying at the Poly, I'd leave it at the Neverland Club! I don't think there would be any problem if you were late picking up the kids; they may charge you for an additional hour though.

My daughter stayed at the Cubs Den and Simba's Clubhouse several times when she was younger. She LOVED Simba's Clubhouse! She was just there while we had dinner at Boma's. The ladies there always told us to take our time and have a nice evening out.

When you drop them off, just check with the ladies as you're signing them in. I don't think it would be a problem, unless you were running late and it was after they closed.

Have a great trip! We'll be there in September too!!!

Thank you for your response. I do prefer to keep the reservation at Neverland. I'm just not sure how much of our 3 hours will be taken by travel to and from Epcot.

I would guess that you will spend at least 30 minutes to walk to the Epcot monorail, wait for a monorail and then ride to Epcot. Once you get there, it's probably a good 15 - 20 minute walk to the beginning of the World Showcase, so at least 45 minutes travel time each direction (at least 1 1/2 hours total). Are you having dinner at one of the sit down restaurants? Just my opinion, but this doesn't sound like a plan for a relaxing evening, given the 3 hour time constraint.

It might be a little quicker (but probably not much) to go to the Magic Kingdom and take a bus to the Beach Club and then go into the World Showcase via the International Gateway. At least that way you wouldn't have to walk from the front of Epcot.

Thank you for your response. It's very helpful. We do not have dinner reservations, we were just planning to walk around World Showcase. That amount of travel time does make me consider using the Beach Club's child care instead.

You're welcome. If you use the child care at the Beach Club, you would have almost the full 3 hours to walk around the World Showcase. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk from the Beach Club to the International Gateway.

But, it will be so easy to take the children to your room for bed afterward if they're at the Neverland Club. I think, to me, it would depend on how old your children are and whether they're up for the travel to and from BC, too.

Thank you for your responses. This will make our decision easier.

Another vote for the Poly! We stayed there last year and found it to be such a great homebase for F&W and MNSSHP. On our date night, we dropped the kids off at the Neverland Club, walked over to the TTC (5-10 min), hopped on the monorail and were loving F&W in no time at all. Travel time was definitely not a big deal for us.

And btw, the kids BEGGED us to go back to Neverland again! We're staying at BC this time, but almost switched this morning while navigating the room only discounts. DD7 really wanted to play at Neverland. :) But we'll be trying out the Sandcastle Club this time - I'm sure they'll have a great time there, too.

You'll love the Poly. Have a great time!! :goodvibes
