We are leaving in no time!! Just wondering...when you venture out to the parks for the day with the baby and the stroller...what do you pack? Do you bring a diaper bag or just a few diapers and wipes? Do you leave everything in the stroller when you are in line for rides (or at a restaurant) and did you feel safe leaving all the stuff in the stroller? I am planning on bringing a sport string backpack with sunscreen, ID, phone, camera to wear on my back (i assume i can go on rides with this) but just wondering what everyone else does with their "stuff" when traveling with a baby! Thanks!! :)

I've been twice with a stroller and each time we just packed a light bag with minimal supplies and we left the bag in the stroller when we went on rides. I never worried about leaving it filled with stuff and I've never has a problem. I have four kids and never in my life has anyone, anywhere, stollen my strollers or anything in it even when it's stuffed with things. My thinking was, whatever it is that someone might take is all replaceable so don't sweat it.

We'd pack a clean outfit, bottles if they needed them, a couple diapers and some wipes. We figured, they sell clothes there if we had a second wardrobe malfunction and the baby centers sell diapers, wipes and creams if we run out. Going light also left space available to tote our purchases around.

If you haven't already get a clip fan for the stroller and lots of replacement batteries. It was a big must for DS. Even if your going in cooler months the sound of the fan can be soothing.

We've had three trips with a baby under one and the baby hung out in the sling almost the entire time in all three of those cases. (We did have a stroller for the 3 year old of the moment too. And on one trip, a baby actually slept in the stroller). We always seemed to bring too many extra diapers. Extra wipes were actually used though, often for people other than the baby for sticky hands. A disposable changing pad was helpful. We reused it until it got dirty.

For extra outfits, it depended on the age of the baby. We went through several sometimes when we had a 2 month old. But when we had an 11 month old, we rarely went through the one that the child had on. (So just one back-up was enough then). Also, don't forget a hat for baby and sunscreen for baby as well.

We leave our backpack on our stroller - and still do. I figure that if someone is desperate enough to steal some clothes and snacks, then they can have it. (We still travel with a stroller but youngest is not in diapers). We take our cell phone, money, tickets, and camera on rides with us. (In the case of a thrill ride, a young child couldn't go on anyway so we did child swap). We've only once had anyone steal something from our stroller in all of our trips. A squirrel in Epcot was the culprit. So, be careful if you pack some trail mix. They'll break zippers for that stuff.

The only stuff I leave in the stroller while on rides is stuff that I could live without (so diapers, wipes, extra clothes, sunscreen). Camera and wallet stuff come with me. And EVERYTHING gets wrapped up tight. One of my favorite things to do is watch the squirrels going through strollers outside of Nemo in Epcot (and the CM's don't chase them away, they think it's as funny as I do, lol).

TAKE MORE DIAPERS THAN YOU THINK YOU WILL NEED. AND REFILL EVERY NIGHT. The baby care centers only stock certain sizes and only Huggies (which were the one kind that didn't work on my son).

If you use formula bring the individual packets. They were a lifesaver in the parks (if you shop sales and use coupons they don't end up being too expensive).

Bring more diapers and wipes than you think you will need. When you don't have enough it's almost guaranteed that baby will have a blow-out. Bring a couple of changes of clothes for baby and don't forget diaper cream. DS developed a bad rash when we were there and it was aggravated by the heat and humidity. Make sure you have plenty so baby is comfy.

Of course, you can always go to the Baby Center if you need anything. They are well stocked.

As for leaving stuff in the stroller, that's up to you. I had a back pack for a diaper bag so I usually just kept it on me. I would definitely not leave any valuables in the stroller. Just diapers and wipes would probably be fine.

I know that a PP said a mini clip fan, but we never used one. If you have one, great, but I'm not sure I would run out and buy one. JMHO.

True, but it's also true that the baby centers are the only places in the parks that sell diapers, etc., so it's a good idea to pack extra so you don't find yourself in need of a diaper on the other side of AK from the baby center (yes I was stupid enough to take an 18-month old to AK without spare diapers!).

Not sure how old your baby is, but I bring:

A sippy cup for water
Bottles and formula
A clip on fan (I just got a new one off Amazon if you need a recommendation)
Sunscreen
Change of clothes
Burp cloth
Diapers & wipes
Snacks
A small toy or two
A hat
Antibacterial wipes
A binky

I also have a soft "anywhere high chair" thing that can be put on any chair to make a high chair, just in case I need it!

One other thing - make sure you take advantage of the Baby Care Centers in each park. They are a lifesaver. I spent more time in the Baby Center than I did in the parks in May, because DS was hot and crabby and we needed to enjoy the A/C! They have nice changing tables, high chairs, Disney movies playing, and all but the MK have room to play and have some freedom for older babies. They also have private nursing rooms, rocking chairs and a microwave. And they sell any and all baby gear, so whatever you may have forgotten they have! I know they have Gerber formula, not sure about the other kinds.

When we had kids in diapers, we would pack the diaper bag per the norm. Diapers, wipes, change of clothes, snacks, sippy cup etc. And I would have a smaller bag, or like a cross body bag with the more important things inside, like wallet, camera, passes, etc. When we went on the rides, we would just grab the small bag and leave the big diaper bag in. Same feelings as everyone I guess. Everything I left was easily replaceable! This is our first time with all kids completely diaper free (woohoo!:cheer2:) And we will be just packing the small bag with important stuff and a small change of clothes that I will carry on me!
HTH

We are going with our 2 1/2 year old next month. I was thinking of bringing a small backpack rather than the big diaper bag. Also, maybe a small lunch bag size cooler to keep milk? So far this is my list:
diapers
wipes
change of clothes
lots of wet wipes
snacks
milk
water
sunscreen
hat

After reading this thread, will be bringing our stroller fan as well

We are traveling with a one, three, and five year old. Our park bag is PACKED, and I imagine we'll use most of this stuff every day. Thank goodness we have a stroller to carry it in. :)

Diapers & wipes
Anti-bac wipes for tables and gel for hands
sunscreen
change of clothes for each kid
towel
frogg togg
rain ponchos
stroller covers for rain
few bandaids
sunglasses

We're also bringing stroller fans & misters. We leave tomorrow and judging from the reports still coming in about the heat, we'll be glad to have these, haha.

I think most of the things I take have been mentioned, but the baby carrier/sling is a must-have for me. Neither of my kiddos will ride in a stroller the entire time, so I wear them a lot. Also, an extra shirt for me.....am I the only one whose kid has had a blowout when being worn???

If baby is sippy cup age you may get a strap that fastens the cup so the stroller. Then if it gets pitched you won't be left without a cup. My youngest would throw his sippy often when in the stroller so I found that nifty thing online and it worked great.

As baby gets older, we pack less, but in general, this is it:
We have a Britax b-agile
Cheap little toys - we also have a "clip on Mickey" that is easy to put on the stroller for him to play with
Lots of diapers. LOTS of diapers. We use cloths at home, but on the road its plasties. Bring lots more than you need, mainly because you need to prevent monkey butt.
diaper cream
Sunscreen for him and me
Change of clothes.
Fruit pouches
Goldfish
Water bottle/straw sippy
baby silverware/fold- up bib
wipes
Small makeup bag for me princess:
rain cover for stroller
Hat for him
Linen cloth for him/stroller
and that's about it, I think

One thing I do is have a 3x5 card listing everything that's in there for me. Sometimes I forget what I need, so I had to write it on a list. It has helped lots!
I don't normally carry all that stuff, but parks are different. My diaper bag also functions as a purse, so I take it on rides with me too. I never leave it alone, since you would be surprised what people steal in the parks!

We have been on two trips with a baby and we bought hooks that attatch to our stroller. They are rubber and wrap around the handle and have a clip that I then hook onto the diaper bag. This is nice because it frees up the space underneath the stroller so things aren't just shoved everywhere. I also have a cross bag that I put cameras, money etc in and take that with me on the rides. I do leave our diaper bag on the stroller. The clips are great because at the end of the day we just unclip the bag and fold the stroller and go! I always carrry antibacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, snacks, personal items, and some suckers or something sweet for a quick fix :goodvibes.

Depending on what kind of stroller you have if the sun shade is not big enough I would recommend a light weight blanket and clothes pins to clip it on to keep the sun off of a sleeping baby. I would definately bring band aids if you have a toddler. We once had a bad fall during a parade with no chance of getting to first aid.

We always used a rayshade at WDW. DD is very fair skinned and it kept the sun completely off of her. It was also great for helping keep out noise while she napped.

I 2nd attaching a sippy strap to the stroller. Your back will thank you :)

We kept a backpack with essentials (diapers, bottles, snacks, etc) with us at all times & left a few extras with the stroller. We'd restock our backpack as needed.

When I took my 6 month old DD I only brought 3-4 diapers. a small ziplock with wipes, a change of clothes and two bottles (I pumped so I didn't need to worry about formula or water).

Everything stayed in the stroller. I figure if someone was going to steal a diaper they were probably in more need of it them I was at the time.
We also take midday breaks so going back to the room for more diapers or bottles was always part of the plan.
