What is the 'switching off' option?! I have been reading about some of the rides such as Space Mountain where it says 'Parents may use the "switching off" option.' - just wondered.....!

Switchong off - or baby swap - is where one parent rides while the other waits with the child (who doesn't want to/is too small to) then you swap and you get to ride without having to queue up again. If you have othe rchildren it also means they can get to ride twice, once with each parent :D

If you have members of your party who don't want to ride, but want to stay with you in the line (usually small children, but can be any age ;) ) you can all line up together then, when you get to the point of no return, the non-riders (plus accompanying parent) can leave the line and wait nearby.

Then comes the attractive part - when the riders have finished the ride they go to the waiting area and take over from the non-riding parent who is able to go straight to the front of the line to ride. It means both parents can ride (although not with each other) without having to queue twice as they can take it in turns to look after the non-riders after they've all stayed in line.

We used this for Space Mountain (it's avaialable for most of the 'big' rides) when DDs were a bit older and didn't want to ride but weren't old enough to be left to wander around Magic Kingdom on their own whilst DH and I rode. It isn't just for babies! ;)
