Parents, Help! need advice again........same situation but new development

I wanted to add.
I am really inclined to approach the boy to let him know I did not mean to upset him, I feel bad thinking I may have upset him and didn't mean to.

but by doing that I am afraid of opening the door with her again.

DO NOT GO THERE.....

I was sure to smile and exhibit socially acceptable behavior with the kid that I just mentioned... But, no way is some snot nosed little 9 year old kid getting the satisfaction of having me apologize because HIS hands were where they should not have been.

And, yes, you want to avoid that 'door' altogether.

Yes, as I said, the OP's son was in the wrong...
But, I am not assuming that a lot of 'lying' was going on.
BOTH of the boys were very clearly complicit in what happened.
And, I am taking the fact that her son is just 7 into consideration...

This is the kind of "kid drama" in which parents should simply refuse to involve themselves. It'll blow over quickly enough, UNLESS you add importance to it by allowing yourself to be dragged into the fray.

Does your son know that he isn't allowed to play with the other boy now?

I'm wondering which was the lie? Is he now changing his story because he thinks if he says HE was the one to do it he will still get to play with the boy?

Not that either way is good but I could see this getting even more out of hand without knowing which version of the story is true now.

This. I wouldn't even talk to the other Mom again. She sounds a little to over-reactive for me. So you asked her son what happened when your ds was crying, it's not like you yelled or hit him. His dad was right there and said nothing. She needs to get a grip!

Let it go at least with the other kid. You were originally out of line for blaming the other kid, because you had no idea who deleted everything. maybe you scared the kid when you asked "What did you do?" So the other mom got all defensive like you got all defensive. Let it drop before something stupid and little gets even more blown out of proportion.
