Parents, do you dress up your little darlings for Easter?

I'm guilty of not only dressing them up for Easter, but usually buying them matching dresses :rotfl: My girls are 3 and 5 and they both love to wear pretty dresses whenever they can :) We do go to church on Easter morning and then to my in-laws for a big Easter luncheon.

We don't get into the whole Easter dress thing here.My DD6 doesn't do frilly. We are looking at some of the new longer skirts at Kohl's. That is more her style, her words not mine. Then she could wear it to school too. For DS2.5 the little outfits really aren't our style. He will do a polo and khakis.

My 11 DD hates "girly clothes". The lasttime she wore a dress on Easter was when she was 4 or 5. Even then, it was just for pictures and as soon as Grandma came over saw her dressed up she went and changed into pants.

We don't normally do much for Easter, so no, our DDs dont get dressed up. They already have some cute spring/summer play dresses, so depending how warm it will be, they'll wear those. They get dressed up for Christmas Eve...thats the only time we really get new 'fancy' clothes. Otherwise, its kindof a waste...I mean, they'd wear the dresses once and thats it. And honestly, I really don't like Springtime. I'd rather spend money on nice wintery clothes for them, cuz I like fall and winter SO much more.

After Easter we HAVE to have a thread where everyone can post their photos of their little angels (I use that term very loosely LOL) with their Easter baskets. Whether they are dressed to the nines or not, I think it would be fun to see all the pics. :thumbsup2

I don't buy them "dress" clothes anymore (DD 15 DS 11), but I do buy a new outfit for Easter. It is their choice. It can be jeans, but it cannot be a t shirt - my rules, lol.

Usually they both pick something like - Khakis and a dress shirt for DS and DD picks out a skirt. I think they like the freedom. And it works out for me because there is always something they need to be "dressed" up for in the spring - graduation parties, confirmation or communion events, spring concerts in school, etc.

We go out to dinner as a family..with my parents, siblings nad their children. And it's usually a fancy, smancy place. I usually dress DS in Khakis w/a button up shirt or polo (depending on the weather) with a sweater vest under it. Nothing too dressy, as I can't see putting a 4 year old in a suit. But just enough for me.....

OH yes we dress up -- we dress for Christmas as well --- I love buying the dresses and all the accessories - gloves, hats, purses -- we did purses with the Christmas dresses too

I have one DD who loves to wear dresses all the time and another who likes to wear them - but feels embarassed to wear them to school etc... so we go all out for holidays..

Oh and we do the matching/similar sister dressing thing too... for as long as possible - I will let go of that kicking and screaming.

I dress the kids up at Easter. I have several dresses that I have gotten on clearance over the years & DD always models them & picks her favorite. She has an assortment of hats & purses to go with them. I guess that I am lucky that DS loves to wear his suit & tie. :) They look so cute! :) I am going to get them a flower to wear this year too. My sister & I always got small corsages to wear to Church. We felt so grown up.

Both of m y children dress nicely, but do not wear "easter outfits" anymore. They are both SOOOOO picky about their clothes. My only requirement now is that they are dressed up.
