Parents' 35th anniversary during trip- should we mention it to the CMs?

My mom and dad will be celebrating their 35th anniversary during our trip. We're looking at VWL, WL, or POR (and maybe possibly a value if we decide to get an extra room to use as a lounge.)

Should we mention this to the CMs? If we mention it at check in, will we look like we're just being greedy and asking for an upgrade? Or is it good to go ahead and mention it and maybe get an upgrade? Any suggestions?

I would have it noted on the reservation and mention it to cm when you are checking in. We went on our honeymoon and I can't tell you how nice it was just to have CM's say congrats to us and recognize that we were celebrating something special. We were lucky and did get a nicer room at the BC than we had reserved, we also got a free desert at Artist Pointe.

Of course you're not guaranteed free stuff just becuase you have a celebration, but it never hurts to mention it cause you just never know

When I reserved my parents room at the Poly, I mentioned we were celebrating their 50th anniversary. My parents said when they checked in the CM mentioned their anniversary, but that was the extent of it. My parents didn't care and they didn't expect anything. However, I would have liked a bigger response from the CMs, but I also didn't expect it. You may be luckier.

Mention it to anyone who will listen!!! Some of the CM's on rides make sure you get the front seats or a card or they'll bring a little something extra at dinner or dessert time. You might even get a song out of a few. Don't feel that you are being greedy, to be married that length of time in this day and age is definitely something for your family to be proud of!!
