First off, my daughter is fantastic. She's 8.5 and an only. Lately I have noticed that she's an angel when she is just with me, or just with daddy. But when the three of us are together the dynamics change and she has started to play us against each other.

I'm not sure if it's an only child issue, or the whole daddy/daughter thing. But I want to get on top of this before it becomes a huge problem.

I was an only child, and I have (foggy) recollections of doing this too. My DH had a younger sister and a father who didn't dote on his kids...his mom, on the other hand did.

Anyway, I could use a book on how to deal with this situation. DH processes information better if he can read it rather than hear it from me :rolleyes1

But I'm not sure if this is an only child issue, or daddy/daughter issue.

Any suggestions for a good parenting book would be greatly appreciated. :thumbsup2

And please don't slam me for my parenting. As I mentioned, I'm starting to spot a re-occuring problem, and I'm exploring methods on how to best handle it. Thanks! :)
