has anyone used the parent swap facility at disney (when you have a nipper too small for the ride). how does it work; do you both queue and then swap at the front of the queue, one queues while the other goes off with the child and then goes in via the exit with a special pass, or do you have to be ready at the ride platform when the first parent comes off?????

6 weeks till our hol! YIPPEEE!!! :wave2: :

Each ride is different. Star Tours has you both go through the line and swap off at the ride. Fast Track has the second rider wait at the exit to swap off and then nack track. Rockin Rollercoaster gives the second rider a fast pass ticket......

There is a CM at the entrence of every ride. Just ask when you get there.

We no longer need to use the parent swap since our kids are all into the rides now. The last time we needed to swap was in 1997 so things may have changed since then. But we used it quite a bit then and it was great.

As stacy6552 said, each ride is different so just ask the CM. I remember for Space Mountain we all stood in line and then I went with the two little ones to the end of the line while DH went on the ride with the two bigger kids. When DH got off the ride we were able to switch places. It wasn't too crowded and they let the two bigger kids ride again with the me. Don't know if this is normal or if it was because they weren't all that crowded.

Let me try and remember from last year....

Test Track, Mission Space, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Kali River Rapids, Tower of Terror, Rock N Rollercoaster all gave rider switch passes.

Dinosaur we switched out through a door in the gift shop I think.

That's all I can remember off the top of my head.

It has been a few years, but when I discovered that I hated Star Tours, (dizziness issues) and I wanted to keep my husband company while he waited in line, I was directed to a waiting room as the people were boarding. I sat there and waited along with a 2 year old and her mother. We still joke about it, a 2 year old and I waiting. :)

As Laura22 mentioned, just ask the CM at the entrance to the ride. We found that if there are fastpass available for the attractions, that is what we got, I waited at the gift shops (for the a/c) and when my husband exited from the ride, I went on with my older children. The pass states that up to 3 people can ride with the switch rider. Dinosaur was a bit confusing since no CM was there to tell you where to go, as was Space Mountain, we were told to go through the door, but never found them :confused3
