I've signed up for parasailing with my little guy (8 year old). Has anyone ever gone with their little ones before? And if so, how did it go? My little guy is a thrill seeker and loves going fast, etc. (which scares the heck out of his mom). I'd appreciate any comments.

Thanks.

He should love it, and I dont think it will be too scary for you either. ;) If you plan to go up together, just be forwarned that they might not let you, due to the conditions of the day. You wont know this until you are actually on the boat going out. I was greatly disappointed about this because I wanted to go up with DH. I made sure we would make the weight limit before booking it because I did not want to do it alone. I had no idea they could tell you at the last minute that you have to go alone. I almost didnt do it. But in the end DH convinced me to, and I loved it.
You also might want to bring up a disposable camera to take pictures. Its a great view.
Good luck!

I would make sure to check the weight / hieght requirements so that if there is some chance that he doesn't meet them, he won't be disappointed.

Enjoy! I don't think I could get my ten year old to do this!

great hint........take TWO disposable cameras! Take one up with you, and ask someone to snap pictures while you are going up and coming down! We have Fabulous pics of my DH and DD when they are only about 10 feet up, and then to see them where they look like a smudge on the pic.....the expressions on their faces (on the close up, duh) is priceless!!!

Hi Kyle,
Just an FYI. The Disney shore excursion booklet says "Guests must be at least 8 years of age and weigh more than 90 lbs, but not exceed 375 lbs. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult."

My ds just makes the weight cutoff at 91 lbs, and he is large for his age.

Thanks for the note. My little man is tall and skinny, like 60-65 pounds, far below the 90 pounds. However, when I made the reservation, I specifically asked about that and they responded that the 90 pound referred to if a person wanted to go by him/herself.

My question for the group really is have any of you ever taken 'little ones' i.e. 8 year old dare devils WITH you? Thanks again.

Kyle

My husband and DD9 went parasailing in July. She absolutely loved it. They did tandem, with my daughter in front. She was upset that everyone else got dipped in the water on the way down and they didn't. They stayed dry. She loves roller coasters and everything fast. Your son should love it.

That is a great hint about the two cameras. Make sure they take lots of pictures.

After parasailing we went on the banana boat and my daughter was very disappointed. It wasn't thrilling enough for her. She was spoiled by the parasailing!

Have a great time.

Kathleen
