My DD and I did parasailing on CC last August, and it was awesome!!! You can book parasailing at your 60 day out date, I see you are under your 60 day mark. The parasailing is an excursion that tends to fill up fast, I wouldn't wait any longer if you are really interested.

I did the parasailing last September at Castaway Cay. It was so much fun!

One thing to keep in mind is that you want to do this when they have a good wind. If it is a calm day your ride will not be as good.

You are actually in the air about 5-7 minutes or so, but you are on the boat with the other riders for about 30-45 minutes I believe.

I booked this the day we boarded the ship and had no trouble getting this excursion.

Enjoy!!

I was fun but boy was it hi up!!! I was nervous-BF just kept laughing and telling me to relax! he is soo funny...it is really cool and we plan to do it again-why I can relax a little bit more...

I'd never gone before, I was actually the last one to go up and it was wicked cool!!

I booked through DU right before we left, had an 11:30 a.m. meeting time... so we had plenty of time to take the trams down to Serendity Beach, throw our bags down and go back to the dock. My daughter had gone when she was in Mexico a few years ago, there they have you running off the beach into the water to take off...At Castaway Cay, you stand on the back of the boat and they slowly reel the cable and up you go. I had a picture of Nate with me up there so he could fly with me, it was such a peaceful feeling. They reel you back in and tell you when you touch down, to take a few steps forward, the guide is right there to help you.

GO FOR IT!!

Highly recommend the parasailing! We tried to book under the 60 day limit and were unsuccessful. However, DW was so intent on doing it, she put us on a wait list once on board and we got it!

Here's a shot from almost all the way up (out?) Parasailing View

And here's one of the Wonder while "airborne"
Wonder from the Air

Enjoy!

We just got off the Magic yesterday and our whole family went parasailing on Friday. We had a blast and highely recommend it. We booked while we were on board and had no problem however I would book prior just make sure I had a spot. My DD (10) and I went together and DH and DS (12) went by themselves. The only complaint I have is that it is to short of a ride about 5-6 mins. I was hoping that since my DD and I went together that they would let us stay up a bit longer since we still paid the same price even thought we went together. Oh well. DH took camcorder up and got some really neat footage of Castaway and the Magic and I took the camera up and am hoping that I got some great shots, we're off to Sam's Club tomorrow to get all 10 rolls of film delvoped!! Anyway book it and have a great cruise. We've only been home for 2 hours and we are all depressed!! But we're cruising again 10/2005 hope it goes by fast!!

My 18 year old DD did this. She enjoyed it, but they paired her with another young lady. (They didn't know each other.) The funny part is that this girl's mother participated and they had her go alone.

She did say that a dad who paired with his son got sick to his stomach while aloft. They didn't clean the vest when they gave it to the next person.

How much does the parasailing excursion cost? DW is a bit reserved about trying it but, hopefully I will be able to convince her to do it. Also what is the minimum age for this excursion. My oldest DD will be 9 at the time we sail, she would enjoy the para sailing if she is old enough to participate.

Minimum age is 8 years old and the minimum weight to go alone I believe is 90 pounds, I'll see if I can find my excursion booklet and make sure.

we also paid $70 each in January, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.... Key West had parasailing a bit cheaper, I think I saw signs for $48, etc.,,, but I didn't check them out, I put my trust in Disney. Shirley may be able to get some information on them if you're going on the Western cruise.

My dh and I parasailed on our first DC in 7/2001 and will be doing it again during our upcoming 2/21/04 cruise. Can't wait! Don't forget to take a camera up with you!

I just went to the DCL website and found this information for parasailing on CC.

Parasailing (45 minutes, airborne 5-7 minutes)

View Castaway Cay from a whole new perspective as you soar approximately 600-1,000 feet in the air! This aerial adventure is approximately 45 minutes total, with 7-9 minutes airborne. Guests must weigh more than 90 lbs., but must not exceed 375 lbs. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Adult Price: $70 (ages 10 and above)
Child Price: $70 (ages 8-9)
Departure Times: Every 60 minutes, beginning at 10:30 am Disney Magic
9:00 am Disney Wonder

As usual thanks for all the great info everyone. DD is very excited that she will be old enough to parasail with me, as I have not been able to convince DW to give it a shot. Youngest DD is quite envious!

V Man got all info correct, however if I may just clear something up. My DS is 12 and DD is 10 so I called prior to boarding the Magic to see if they would be able to go alone or did DH or myself have to go with them. If your child is under the age of 13 a parent must be on the boat with them, not the sail. The catch is that you still have to pay the $70.00 to "accompany" the child under 13, so that is why we all decided to "go up". My DD is over the weight limit, but they suggested we go tandem to make it a bit more balanced for her, we had no problem with this since she was up in the air(cute play on words!) about going by herself or not. ANyway just wanted to let you know what we were told.
Have a great time.
