Has anyone ever been here or the other Paramounts ? We are thinking about doing a weekend trip it is a 4 hour drive and just wondering what it is like?

We used to live 20 minutes from there and had season passes. It's been over 4 years since I was there but it's a great little park. I agree with avoiding the weekends and also keep in mind now through the end of Junes will be Grad nights on Fri. nights (if they still do that). The Racer, the Beast (the first one) and another rolla coaster that was modeled after the Tom Cruise movie where he's a flyer were my favs. Have a great time

Paramount King's Dominion outside Richmond sucks! It's dirty and poorly laid out. OTOH, my BIL loves King's Island and says it's faboo. :confused3

Great Park! Not as many intense roller coasters as Cedar Point, but it is a very clean, well laid out park. You admission also includes the water park. Last year, if you went on Saturday, your ticket was also good Friday after 5pm. However, you still had to pay a full days parking price.

Compared to 6 Flags, as of a few years ago at least (the MD one), Kings Dominion is great. We went a few weeks ago and I really didn't know what to expect, but I thought it was ok. The water park wasn't open yet, so next time we'll check that out, but there were some good rides (my 6yo loved Anaconda and I loved the Volcano). Hershey Park and Busch Gardens are both a lot nicer, but it was ok for an amusement park.

We're excited to try Kings Island, though.

Before DD8 was born, DH & I went to Kings Island every year for 6 years.

We live in IL & it was a 6 hour drive. We have 2 Six Flags that are closer, but we thought Kings Island was a much nicer park.

We're looking forward to going back, but we're waiting until DD meets the height requirements for the coasters - otherwise she'll fixate on what she can't ride instead of enjoying what she can.

I actually live a mile away from Kings Island...This year they have redone the whole Kids area..Nickelodeon Universe as they call it..I havent been this year yet but i have heard the kids area is great...I used to love to go there..but after awhile and living so close you get burned out....and after i experienced Disney World..well there was no comparing it..what so ever..If you have never been i suggest you go..Its a nice park...Fun to go to once a year or so...has some good rides....If you go definitely do your best to stay away from weekends if you can cause it sells out and when it is that packed it is absolutely miserable...No ride is worth waiting in line for 2+ hours...
