Paramount plan theme park in Dartford

'Disneyland rival' plan for Kent Paramount Pictures theme park

A £2bn entertainment resort which would aim to rival Disneyland Paris could be built in north Kent.

Developers have been granted a licence from Paramount Pictures to use its name on a resort on the Swanscombe Peninsula, near Dartford.

I'd have thought it would be more competition to Chessington than DLP.

Speaking as someone who went to school in Dartford, I really doubt this plan actually coming to light! Dartford and family-fun just aren't two things that come to mind

Anyone else remember when they proposed Disney to be built on Rainham marshes? Similarly the proposed Universal park in Essex? I believe there are reasons why these projects fell through. Paramount take note..

Of-course location-wise it would be excellent. I'm just glad I don't have to travel over the Dartford bridge everyday now - that bridge can't cope now, let alone with tourist traffic being involved.

OT if the tolls weren't there they traffic would sail through as there would be no reason to stop.

It would be interesting to see if they go ahead wit the plans. It would need for a better road system which can only be better for Bluewater as they made the same mistakes that Lakeside made in that the roads are too small to cope with heavy traffic.
