Paramount kings Island question?

Kings Island (PKI) is off of I-71 and Kings Mill Rd, and I would start by looking for a hotel on that exit. It would be a straight drive right into the park. Fields Ertel exit has nice hotels too, but much more congested. Already mentioned before, but Kings Island Inn is right across from the park. A movie theater is next door too. A Kroger store is just west of the exit.

I think PKI is getting better, especially for the youngest kids. Nick Universe is very nice, and my 8 year daughter loves the Reptar roller coaster. Kind of a coaster built for kids and your feet are dangling from the car (very nice and smooth). The Nick parade at 5:00pm is cute too (not as cute as Disney though). My biggest beef with the park is the food. Very lousy (not even close to WDW or Busch Gardens). Larosas Pizza on International Street is about the only thing the family likes there.

Fourth of July is going to be very crowded. They advertise the night of fire during this time. Please check their website, I'm sure you can get a discount anytime you go.

The beach is awesome!!!!! I think they always have a great special going!!!! Right now you can get 4 people in for 49.00............

I agree that if it rains a day head to the Newport aquarium, they just started a new exhibit where you can actually pet baby sharks!!!!!! Unfortunately, the IMAX there has been closed for over a year, but there is a regular movie theater, bookstore, coldstone creamery, and lots of restuarants!!!

Have a great time! Oh, and if you get hit with a rainy day, head down to Newport, KY - they have a neat area with an IMAX and a great Aquarium.

If it's not too rainy, don't forget the Cincinnati Zoo. It's beautiful!

My 12yo mentioned the zoo. He's supposed to be planning the trip--I'm trying to help with planning as opposed to take over, which is hard for me. We have the National Zoo in DC--is the zoo something that would stand out to us since we have a nice zoo?

I would like to see the aquarium. Should we allow a half day for that?

MidgeD79, let me know how you like your hotel.

I kinda thought the same. Still a great time, but something was off. The good news is, the Paramount Parks were recently bought by the same company that owns Cedar Point & Knott's Berry Farm. Probably won't see any changes until next season, I'd guess.

That is truly excellent news! I'm actually excited for next season at King's Island now, and I can't remember the last time that happened.

I wonder what the chances are of them rehabilitating and reopening the greenery tunnel that used to lead into the old Hanna-Barbara Land... that's the biggest thing I think they need to work on, is making KI green again...
