Parakeet or Canary?

I grew up with a parakeet and we enjoyed our time with him, but didn't feel the need to get another one after he died. He died at about 8 years old and had a tumor (we took him to a vet). We kept him on a counter space in the family room, and the only time he got noisy was at night after dinner, because that's when we fed him and cleaned his cage. He knew it was coming, so he learned our routine like a dog or cat would. He was a good bird and relatively low maintenance.

We ended up buying two parakeets. I have named them Spin and Marty. So far they like each other pretty well, but are a bit squeamish when anyone puts their hand in the cage to add food water or anything else. They love the mirror that we put in there. They have been sharing it quite nicely. I took a few photos, and they keep chirping when the camera beeped. I guess they thought it was another bird.
