I just booked my first DLR vacation! I'm so super excited I'll be going last week of August for my birthday! Plus, it's a mother-daughter only trip! How fun!

We're booked in a Concierge Level Premium View room and I'd love any and all tips or trick you all may have for me. A specific room to request, places to check out? OR even just DLR ideas in general. I'd love to hear it all!

If you actually want to go down the elevator....hit the up button and take one to the top and back down. Otherwise you will wait 15 minutes for an elevator!

You can take the glass elevator up too, and down since you are on the concierge level. cut through the grand Californian for the quickest route to the parks. Don't follow the signs-they will take you the long way around. And definitely use the go up to go down trick! :-)

How exciting for you! A few years ago, we stayed at PP, also Concierge, and we got upgraded to a suite with a theme park view! Little did we know that "colored water show" that they worked on after hours would end up being WORLD OF COLOR! HA! We didn't even ask! But what you can do, is upon arrival, ask if they have any courtesy upgrades that may be available. My philosophy is, you can ask anyone anything, as long as you are able to graciously accept a 'no'. Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy the concierge. A couple of tips regarding that. If you don't see something you'd like, i.e. Uncrustables, just ask! When we were there they kept them in back. For a mid-late afternoon savory snack, go check out the hot hors dorves. They generally only have one each night, and it rotates as to what they have. But if you have kids, you can probably make the offerings into a dinner! And if you want to get a little something sweet before bedtime, be forwarded that the chocolate dipped strawberries disappear quickly. We saw families taking PLATEFULS OF THEM back to their room! Talk about greedy! Also, it took us a day or two to figure this out, but the bottled waters and soda cans are in a small refrigerator inside one of the cabinets below the food service.

Now on to the hotel. The one hotel elevator for all guests gets incredibly backed up in the morning and evening. Particularly with people bringing strollers that haven't been closed. The concierge floor has it's own elevator, which only goes from the concierge level (3rd floor) to the ground level. Use that one! A;so, if you're too pooped to stay at DL for the fireworks, go to the pool level~they have a view area that the music is piped in! It also has portable heaters! And since you have concierge, go get a hot chocolate to enjoy while you watch ;-)

I hope this gives you enough to make the most of your trip. Just remember, if something doesn't go as planned, don't let it ruin your time. Have realistic expectations, and be gracious to all the CMs. Not only do they deserve it, but you never know when they're able to give a little Disney magic in return!

Bottled water is no longer self-serve, guests need to ask for them (assuming PPH is the same as GCH and DLH).

Have you stayed at a Concierge level room before? The lounge at PPH is windowless (unlike the Disneyland hotel which has a great view of the park) but it's got all the other nice amenities: cold breakfast buffet, happy hour with snacks, evening desserts, free movie rentals, and very nice and helpful staff. We found that the waiters there were incredibly sweet and would try to accommodate any food/drink requests you made that they could fulfill. If you get a room with a view of the park, I believe there's a station on the TV that plays the music so you can watch it from your room (can anyone else confirm? My memory is a bit fuzzy on this). I've stayed at all 3 DL hotels and PPH might actually be my favorite because you can get a premium view room for the price of a standard one at DLH or GC, and the upper level rooms have fantastic views of DCA. You can also walk across the street to GC to enjoy the restaurants there and use its special park entrance to DCA.

At PPH, we like Mickey's Surf's Up character breakfast buffet. It's got the fab five plus Stitch and a fun California beach theme. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for dinner though, especially when you can walk across the street to GC or any of the DTD restaurants!

Have a wonderful trip!

We are a little torn between upgrading to CL Premium View from CL Standard View or not.

Hoping for one of the patios with Standard CL. As they are not guaranteed, we would not be angry if we do not get one. If not available, maybe they have some CL Premium View rooms left at check-in for paying amount X. We will see.

So this glass elevator is jut for CL guests?

Are there standard CL rooms on the top level of the hotel or is this a suite-only level? Are these rooms larger because of the structure of this level?

Does anyone know if the Standard rooms at Paradise Pier have refrigerators? I'd love to bring some yogurt or cheese for snacks, but would hate to have it go bad.

one thing I'll share about PPH, if you are driving, make sure you unpack your car before going to park it. There's no elevator in the parking garage!

Yes, there is a small refrigerator that you can use.

Great tips! Dh and I are staying at PPH in June and I think we'll venture up to the rooftop to watch the fireworks from the pool on the first night!

Decided to see what type of Disney plans you were up to...... What a fun trip!! Enjoy! And it is just about here!

I'm about 50ish days out from MNSSHP, a 7 day Fantasy cruise and then a couple of F&W days. Can't wait. Isn't Disney the best!?! Will you do a trip report?

Oh wow! YES!

I went to WDW in May, loved that time of year and have booked a trip for NEXT May! DLR is firming up nicely with a Walk In Walt's Footsteps tour and Napa Rose Chef's Counter on my birthday! Can't wait for that trip!

PLUS....my husband is deployed in Japan so I'm going to see him AND Tokyo Disneyland in September!! AND....we've got a Disney Cruise booked for January 2016 too.

I will definitely do trip reports for those!!

Disney is the best! Can't wait to see how you guys do the Halloween party!! I hope to try that next year actually!

I'm crazy excited for your Tokyo Disneyland trip. That's a park I haven't figured out how I'm getting to. Mom and I did Paris last year and I was able to go to Hong Kong when she lived in China but I have yet to figure out a way to get to Tokyo.... someday! Can't wait to hear all about your visit there! It's Sept. 2015, right? I won't have to wait long!

What ship are you on in Jan?

So glad you're getting lots of Disney in!!

I have a big b-day coming up in Nov.... 40! How did that happen!? We're doing a family trip to Disney's Hilton Head resort to celebrate. I'm really looking forward to that as well.

I'm day dreaming of spring break at Aulani, but so far those plans are far from secured. We'll see....
