Paradise Pier-Shortest Route? Concierge?

I think we have decided on Paradise Pier for our stay. What is the shortest route to the DL Park? I know we can cut through the GC for DCA, but if DCA is not open?????

Has anyone stayed concierge level here recently? Looking for reports on that as well.

To quickest way to get to Disneyland from the Paradise Pier Hotel is by cutting through the GCH to Down Town Disney and then on to the front gates. It's about a 7-8 minute walk.

Or, you can go out of the back of the Paradise Pier and walk to the Down Town Disney monorail station and ride the monorail into Disneyland. It's about a 5 minute walk.

(Sorry, I haven't ever stayed concierge level there, so I can't help you with that. However, if you can swing a park view room, I highly recommend it. The park views from the upper floors are wonderful!)

We always walk right down DTD from PPH. Cutting across DCA from GCH is longer. Though the monorail isn't far from PPH, it takes about as long to wait for a train and ride around the property as it does to stroll down on foot.

We stayed with concierge in September and November of 2007.

Breakfast is pretty standard with toast, bagels and pastries. They had cereal and lots of fresh fruit.

Snacks throughout the day consisted of dried fruit trail mix, goldfish crackers and pretzels. They also have small bags of assorted potato chips, uncrustable peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and huge cookies.

The hot appetizer in the evening can be terriyaki chicken skewers (really, really good), fried shrimp, pizza, mini burgers, quesidillas, mini calzones or spring rolls. They also had a vegetable platter and some kind of cookies.

At the end of the evening they had chocoate covered strawberries.

We use disney-super-mom's route of cutting through GCH to get to DL. We also cut through GCH's self-parking lot to get to the edge of DTD and walk to the monorail.
We stayed PPH concierge last Feb 2007 and we loved it. It was our son's 9th birthday trip and he was actually spending his birthday at disneyland so we decided to splurge and go the concierge route. It was our first time staying concierge in any of the 3 DLR hotels and our 1st stay at PPH. We paid for a standard room view and got upgraded to an upper floor park view and it was stunning. Ds was so excited. He woke up and went to sleep with a view of his 2 favorite rides, Tower of Terror & California Screamin'. We were able to bypass the long lines at front desk to check in and we went straight to Beachcomber's lounge. There are drinks available all day long and food during certain hours. They had pastries, cereals, & fruits for breakfast. Smucker's uncrustables, chips, cookies, fruits for lunch. A hot appetizer, cheese & crackers, fruits and cookies for dinner. And wine & beer during wine & cheese hour. On our first night we got chocolate dipped mickey mouse rice krispy treats delivered to our room complimentary. You can borrow board games and dvds as well. Having the concierge lounge available to us was great. We'd grab water before we'd head to the park and grab snacks when we went to the pool. We overall loved the hotel and the concierge experience and would probably do it again if the price was right.

Though I think there's a middle ground that maybe I'm thinking of (disney super mom mentioned it) and you're not.

There's walking out the back/side of PPH, going towards the AMC theater, passing DLH, going all the way through DTD.

There's going out the front of PPH, into GCH, and going into DCA, then out to DL.

But then there's going out the front of PPH, into GCH by way of the pretty doors, cutting left almost immediately through an insignificant looking door, then down the corridors, then outside, and it puts you into DTD between Libby Lu and Sephora.

That route for sure cuts time off from just going ALL the way through DTD. When I finally went that way, after 4 days of going all the way through DTD, I nearly cried it was so much of a relief. I have a determined son who wanted everything he saw and was vocal about it, and I don't like walking (I like jogging, that feels good to my hips, legs, and feet, but DLR frowns upon jogging through their parks!!!) all that much, so going all that way through DTD was unpleasant for a few reasons.

That's correct! We stayed in October, December, and January and the food was the same every time. There is also apple juice, water, Coke products, coffee, and tea available all day. In the evening wine and beer are available, too.

There's going out the front of PPH, into GCH, and going into DCA, then out to DL.

This works best when the security lines are likely to be long when entering the Esplanade or you don't want your DH to stop at World of Disney or you need to pick up fast passes for Soarin'.

Otherwise, passing thru the DGC lobby to DTD works best.

The walk is slightly shorter to the Monorail, but the travel time is much longer. Still, if you are heading for Tomorrowland, this is a good option.

Longest of all is the walk around AMC and thru all of DTD.

Very much disagree that it is quick to walk straight to DTD. You have to exit the back of the hotel and walk to the DLH and then down all of DTD.

Yeah, I was referring to walking from PPH to GCH through DTD to DL, rather than going through the GCH into DCA and then to DL or riding the monorail. Both of the later are longer IMHO. That being said, we like to walk every where and enjoy the exercise.
