Hi gang. I have an opportunity to book Paradise Pier Concierge level for our upcoming trip. :goodvibes My understanding is that the Concierge is located on the top two floors. I have done a quick check of the different views and noted that they have Premium and pool view. I also noted that they have Cabana rooms on the third floor that walk out to the pool area. My daughter will still be feeling the effects of her knee surgery when we go so I wanted to stay closer to the ground floor. Can anyone tell me if this a separate view category and what are the odds of getting one of these rooms?

Also, I have read a few stories about the elevators being slow during busy periods. Is this really an issue that I need to be concerned with?

Thanks in advance for your help.

TC.

I cannot answer the concierge questions as I did not stay in that category.

The elevators can be a little slow. If you return to the hotel at non-peak times then it is okay however if you are returning after any of the nighttime entertainment when lots of others head back then you are likely to wait a little while. I stayed there for 5 days and the elevator was never that much of an issue. The comfy bed when you got back to your room more than made up for any wait!

We will be staying Concierge at the PPH in exactly 8 days :cool1:! When I booked I believe the cabana rooms were the pool view rooms. I am not 100% sure though.

Thanks smile4stamps. It doesn't sound as if the wait was too annoying, especially with the comfy beds!;)

Hi enchantedny. It sounds as if you were able to get a confirmed cabana room. Perhaps I misunderstood the view categories since I thought that pool view was the top two floors overlooking the pool. I would be very interested in hearing how you liked the cabana rooms. My daughter really wants to be close to the pool but I am a little concerned about noise from the patio area.

Thanks,

TC.

Unless you booked "park view" concierge you will be put in a "standard" view which is pool side.

We just had a cabana room, and I can't say we ever noticed any noise.. esp when the door was closed and the A/C was on.. We only heard the fireworks :)

I have 3 littles and they had no problem falling asleep at night :)

Hi mama2dutchies. Does that mean that all concierge other than park view will be cabana? This is what is confusing me as I was under the impression that there were also standard pool view concierge rooms on the top two floors.

Also, were there stairs available on the third floor to go to the club lounge and the lobby or did you have to take the elevator? My concern is that any problems with elevator traffic will be exacerbated on the third floor as most elevators would be full by the time that they hit the third floor.

Thanks again to everyone for helping me out. :thumbsup2 I need to make my decision by tomorrow and I am beginning to lean towards the cabana.

I thought the Second floor is where the Concierge Lounge is? there are stairs to the second floor for ease of access to the gym, lounge, laundry and other amenities. The second floor also has access to the elevators and the one elevator that is glass enclosed (it moves faster then the other 2 elevators)
I was told with the Concierge rooms that it is either cabana, poolside, or penthouse rooms. Cabana and poolside being on the 3rd floor. Penthouse being the top 2 floors which have an elevator to the floor below the top floor and then stairs to the top, if that makes sense.

I had a park view room on the top floor and it was not concierge.

There is no dedicated club or concierge "level", though some rooms are sold that way (upper level view rooms are the ones booked first for "concierge")

You can be in any room and add on concierge. Some folks have done cabana rooms w/out concierge. The concierge club is on the 2nd Floor. All cabana rooms are on the 3rd floor and face on the pool side and thus are not "view rooms" although your view is of the pool area (but you won't be looking at the water from your room, because the pool while ON the 3rd floor is UP a flight of stairs from those rooms.

Now a cabana room would still be good for viewing fireworks- you could walk out your patio and right up to the far end of the pool and they will usually pipe in the music from the fireworks outside and you get a decent faraway view.

If you want a cabana room, you should call the hotel directly and see if you can be booked into that room. If you want concierge, they can tell you if that can be confirmed prior to check in, or you may be able to add it when you arrive.

Thank you very much TeddiBarra. I think I have it cased now. I'm going to sleep on it and book the room first thing tomorrow. Can't wait.

Thanks again! :thumbsup2
