Paradise Pier or Disneyland Hotel

If you had the choice between the paradise pier hotel or the Disneyland Hotel which would you choose and whY??? Thanks!

Easy call for me... paradise pier.

Why? Noise and newness. The Disneyland hotel is a wonderful place for getting in touch with my childhood memories but it's loud and just not up to par in my opinion (room quality, on site services). Not that it's not a good place, I'd just rather stay in paradise pier or the grand if sticking to the park properties. Sure the walk will be a bit longer but for the upsides I'll take.

I choose the DLH. I miss the grounds when I stay at the PP and other than the slide, its pool is boring. I also miss the dining options of the DLH. and the way the rooms have a sliding door to allow fresh air. All that said, the PP is still very nice, I love the spacious rooms and beach touches. I have stayed there three times and didn't have any complaints. But I do prefer the DLH. I also don't like the way PP doesn't have a laundry room. I always end up having to do a load or two during our stays and having to walk over to the DLH's laundry is a pain!

DLH definately. We love walking under the Sorcerer's hat coming and going. The Disney touches all around the hotel and room. It's also closer. The pool is really cool, too.

DLH. Superior pool(s). To my mind, superior location too. Like the bar outside. Like the silly old colorful waterfall.

I would choose Paradise Pier, since I like the beach theme better. I just wasn't too impressed with the Disneyland Hotel.

I just switched my ressie for next week from PPH to DLH. My girls enjoy the DLH pool more and I like having the Lost Bar and Crock's Bits and Bites close to the hotel. The only times noise has bothered me was when we had a DTD view during the summer - the steel drum music drives me crazy.

Make sure the Neverland Pool is open. I think its been closed lately for refurbishment and DLH guests have had to use the PP pool. I can't find the thread where they talk about that so you might call the DLH directly to double check! Have a great trip.

I asked today when I switched, they said it 'should' be open by my check in date. Eh, we're at HoJo's for a few days then switch over to DLH. I'm staying a few extra days for a conference so they'd only get to enjoy the pool for one day - they'll be OK at the PPH pool until they leave.

Thanks for the heads up, it's just one of the many reasons I enjoy this board.

You're welcome! This board gave me a heads up about this sort of thing years ago when we were set to stay at PP. My kids were dying to use that slide and I found a few days before our trip it was closed for refurb. Luckily they got it open our second day so it was fine but I was so glad I was able to prepare my kids ahead of time.

I'll definitely go for Disneyland Hotel, my kids really loved the pool.
