I just checked again(3:30pm), and was able to get a standard room from Nov. 30th through Dec. 10th at $283.

If you are still interested in your first set of dates, you might consider booking them online, with the few extra days, and then calling to cancel the Nov. 30 to Dec. 2nd portion---that should get you the actual dates you want.

I personally, would call---I think you would avoid a lot of confusion/frustration and headache by doing so. Good Luck!

I actually wanted to go through my travel agent. So I told her I want to book that full set of dates but will be dropping some off. We're working on it now.

I really appreciate all the brainstorming. I really had no idea that by putting in a larger range of dates it might come up as available.

If anyone stumbles across any great deals, I'm booking at full price but would love to do better. Right now I'm on Orbitz watch. And Ebates. I would love for Ebates to go back to a higher rebate level for Orbitz.

Oh good, I'm glad it popped up for you using a different block of dates. Hopefully they will run a promotion for the holiday season like they did last year. I think usually around mid to late September they will announce it. Fingers crossed for you!

I'm fairly positive that some PPH rooms will open up. As you know, that's where I stay and that's exactly the time of year I stay there, so I feel I can make that statement with confidence. (And a lot of people clear out after Candlelight.)

As I recall, last year there was a block of time that the PPH standard rooms were showing as being completely booked, but then -- miraculously -- when a room discount offer opened up, so did a bunch of rooms. Certain blocks of rooms are held or 'set aside' for certain offers of varying kinds.

In years prior to 2012 I also remember the calendar showing that rooms were booked, and then suddenly a couple of weeks opened up.

This far out from December, nothing at DLR is set in stone or even up to date, not even when it appears that all the rooms are booked.

I think I would just feel better at this point to have something booked. We really soaked every single hour of early entry time we could out of being onsite last year. I thought about it a lot the last few days and just can't see standing around twiddling our thumbs waiting for the parks to open. I'm up anyway, so I want to go play!

Can I count on you Sherry to let me know when you hear about any room discounts? Even a standard room at regular price is a bit more than I have in mind to spend. I'll certainly let you know if I hear anything about onsite discounts first -- although, last year, others found out about discounts way before I did! So you may see some threads pop up about discounts on the board at some point.

In any case, I am expecting there will be some sort of new "Fall discount" that kicks in after that -- maybe covering a couple of weeks in October and then random weeks in November and December (and the time frame you're looking at is usually included in discount periods, or at least the Sundays-Thursdays are, while Fridays-Sundays may not be discounted).

If I am right and a new discount kicks in sometime after the end of September, I am thinking it might be announced in early October-ish or so. Maybe sooner, with any luck, but you know how Disneyland operates.

Well, that helps. I'll definitely start watching after that latest discount expires. I need to get more regular at watching the forum for new threads. I've been too hit or miss.
