I love that soup. It is simply lovely. After going to business Costco yesterday I now have a huge surplus of sliced mushrooms and would love to give it a try. Does anyone have it, or if not, point me in the direction of a similiar recipe?
Thanks!

Me too, me too!!! Oh my gosh - that soup is delicious!!!

I discovered it a few years ago when my youngest DS was sick and I would take the "evening shift" with him while my DH took our other son to the parks (our poor little one was sick with the flu the ENTIRE trip - never left the hotel room except to go home). We never get room service normally, but this trip we did, and I had the soup two nights in a row.

I had it again last week, at the PCH Grill - yummy!!!!

It does not look like anyone has the recipe. Maybe you could ask for it, next time you are in? That would be awesome if you could get it. I have been googling around, and lot's of people love that soup!

There is a binder at City Hall that is accessible for viewing which has recipes from restaurants throughout the resort. I don't know if the soup you are asking about is in there, but it might be.

Thanks Disney Dreams! Anyone want to go by city hall and take a look. They probably won't photo copy it for you, but you might be able to take a picture.

Disney Dreams,

Do you know if taking a picture or copying the recipe (I am willing to do it by hand) from the binder is permissible?

If so, we will be back sometime between Feb and May when our APs expire, so I can put it on my must-do list, although if someone else is there sooner and wants to get it, that'd be great, also.

When I looked in the binder last (which was quite a while back), each page was a sheet protector with one recipe per side place in the sheet protector. Behind each recipe (in the sheet protector) were copies of the recipe that was shown in that side of the sheet protector. There were a few recipes that I wanted from the binder and the cast member took a photo copy from the respective sheet protector and handed it to me.

There was a recipe my friend was interested in which was not in the binder. She asked the CM about it and the CM turned to the computer, checked a list of recipes in their system, and the recipe was there! The CM printed it and gave it to my friend.

P.S. I am supposed to be going to the Park next week with family. If that visit happens, I will stop by City Hall and ask about the Mushroom Soup recipe.

Wow, great news ands thanks for that information!

Let us know if you go, and if not, I will definitely do so when we go next.

PS What were the other recipes you got?

Where do you get mushroom soup in PP? I ask because the only place I have had a mushroom soup was at Napa Rose. Which was very yummy, but pricey. lol I would be interested in trying some soup from PP.

Janell,

I just looked back over this thread, and it is a bit confusing what we were saying. Sorry!!

We are talking about at the Paradise Pier HOTEL....I have gotten mushroom soup both through room service and at the PCH Grill at the hotel.

Only other place I have had it is in DTD at La Brea Bakery...one night it was the soup of the day...I've never been there again when it was the soup of the day, but it was delicious too, different than PPH.

HTH!

Disney Dreams, would you please mind sharing your recipes with me. I'd appreciate it, yummmm. Thank you!!

OMG! I had no idea this was available in the park. Would someone get the recipe for the Loaded Baked Potato Soup at Carnation Cafe and forward it to me? I have a recipe that was posted on another message board, but it just doesn't taste the same, and I can't help but wonder if it really is *the* recipe. :confused3 I mentioned this to Chef Oscar when we were there a month ago, and he gave me a few tips....

....but my latest try still just doesn't do it justice. I'd like to see the real deal to figure out if it's just my lack of cooking skills or what.

What is the mushroom soup like? That sounds really good also!

Oh my gosh, you are making me drool just reading this!

I love that he came and talked to you (and even better, you have a picture).

The mushroom soup is creamy/silky, but NOT heavy - it is not like a Cream of Mushroom soup where you feel like you just slapped a tub of lard on your thigh - with pieces of mushroom in it. It was filling. At PCH Grill, it came with two yummy sourdough rolls, most of which my children scarfed while I was taking pictures (the food hadn't arrived when I went to take pictures). Of course, they didn't touch the mushrooms :lmao: - which was probably a good thing for them, but only this one time.

We are leaving for DLR on the 25th and since I am a mad recipe collector and did not know this service was available I will be stopping in to see that book and will be HAPPY to share whatever I get and will keep an eye out for that soup recipe for you. WOW there is always something new to look forward to when you go to DL!

Very jealous of the pic! Going to try to get one of my own!
