Paradise Pier Concierge Questions

Hello!

We are planning an October trip to Disneyland, staying in the Paradise Pier Hotel, and are considering staying at the concierge level. The cost will be $225 for three nights.

I have a few questions:

1. Does concierge refer to a type of room or the ability to use the concierge lounge - or both?
2. Can we get a standard view room with concierge service, or will getting the concierge service automatically "upgrade" us to a park view? (In other words, are the concierge rooms nicer?)
3. Are the concierge rooms all on the same floor?
4. What time is the concierge lounge open?
5. Any opinions on if it is worth the money or not?
6. We will be checking out after the third night, but we will store our luggage with the front desk and visit the parks until the evening, then take the Disney Express to the airport. Can we still use the conierge lounge on this last day, even though we are technically checked out?​

Are you an AP holder? If so the Paradise Pier usually has AP rates of about $120 in October. If you are then I would not do concierge.

Lets see how many questions I can answer: We stayed at PP concierge last December and had a great time.

1. I believe the answer is both, when I booked our concierge I was asked if I wanted a theme park view or a pool side room. (The pool side rooms have small patio's) I choose a theme park view, we were on the top floor and the view was great.
4. I believe the lounge opened at 7 am, but I could be wrong.
5. It was worth it to us, However, I purchsed an AP so we could get a really really good room rate, 189 a night, and there were two adults and one child. We got breakfast every morning, took snacks and drinks to the park and showed up for the wine and cheese reception every night, that always included a hot appitizer so that was dinner. All we ate at the parks were lunch and some snacks (ok sometines snacks were lunch)
We were there five nights, so we were not in a rush to do the parks from open to close, so it worked for us.

Are you an AP holder? If so the Paradise Pier usually has AP rates of about $120 in October. If you are then I would not do concierge.

Last year they were $149 standard view, $169 DCA View (our September trip), and $189 concierge DCA view room (October Trip). The concierge was well worth it. I believe they only have 19 concierge DCA view rooms available. We still have the Tinkerbell water bottles from our October trip.

Forgot to add the concierge view room was bigger than the regular room.

Just came back last Thursday. I don't think the rooms are any bigger, but you do gave a dvd player.

Hours are 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

It cost us $90 more and was worth it if you eat all your meals there. We had breakfast, and then came back for their happy hour and had that as dinner.

For a family of 5 we saved a lot of money.

We asked for a late checkout (1 pm) and then stored our luggage, free.

I wouldn't bother if you want to eat at the parks.

They also gave us turndown service, plus on the first night, 5 mickey rice crispie squares.

Ask away, I just came back.

Oops sorry we paid 129 in Feb and I thought that October was about the same. I forgot that you can get concierge AP rates. I just booked Honeymoon suite at the Disneyland Hotel for my FIL and they do not have AP rates for Honeymoon suite. With the AP rates the concierge floor would be worth it.

Wow, what did that set them back? I remember just a few years ago getting PPH for $89 a night. We've pretty much decided if Concierge at PPH or DLH is $20-$40 more a night than a standard view room we'll go for it.

AAA offers 3 nights at PPH and four 4-day Park Hopper tickets for $1391 during October, and it costs $225 to add concierge. This seems a lot more expensive than the rates that you guys have shared... I'm going to play with the dates a little more, but it seems like the further you get into October, the more expensive the packages are (I'm assuming because of the Halloween stuff...).

I know that we'll be needing lots of snacks, so that's why I started looking into this in the first place. Do the Disney parks allow you to bring the packaged food and beverages into the parks? That would be a big part of our decision...

That price seems pretty good to me, as it includes the hoppers!

The service is fantastic, the concierges are very helpful and try to make your visit special. They gave my youngest a bunch of balloons and asked him to give one to each child and keep the rest. He also got a pin for his trouble! Plus we got signed photos of the characters.

You can take whatever you want to the parks. They encourage it. The snacks between 10 and 5 are chips, large cookies, fruit, fish crackers, pretzels. Between 5 and 7 they have a hot appy ( we had quesidillas and chicken kabobs), veggies, crackers and cheese, uncrustables, fruit and desserts. Also beer and wine and throughout the day, water, pop, milk and juice.

As I said, its worth it if you take advantage of it. Some people don't.

^^ You can bring food and drink (no bottles and no alcohol) to the park. We always take backpacks and bring in snacks, sandwiches, waters and cokes (in plastic bottles). There's a couple of threads around here detailing what's acceptable and what isn't.

Last year they released the fall AP rates in mid July. That's where a lot of us got good deals.
