I found a good deal on tickets through my credit card, and am wondering if it's worth it, and what about seating? Are the seating upgrades worth it? There's 8 of us, so adding another $30 to $60/ticket adds up fast. I was going to skip a luau because of our travel budget, but am now reconsidering.

If you've never done a luau, it's fun. I've done Paradise cove a few times now and I always get the deluxe seating because I also get my tickets through them military and it just makes sense. We do drink and we always want a photo with whom ever is visiting and those are included. I like the deluxe because you have assigned seats, your own entrance and you don't have to get there super early to get in line, no cattle call to the buffet line because you get your food served (but still can get as much as you want, you just ask), and cocktail waitresses. And you're right up front. If you've done a luau before, then I'd say skip it. I'm sooooo done with going to a luau, but every time we have guests they want to go....

THANKS! I booked the deluxe seats. I have never done a luau, and it's hard to pass up when it's right next door. This seemed like the perfect use of my credit card points. There's 8 in my group so we'll have plenty of group and probably individual photos to take home. What about the souvenir gift? I'm setting my bar low for that one.

We enjoyed it. I have a review of it in my Trip Report, which is linked in my signature, if you want to see some pics and stuff. The Souvenir Cove card was $16/person for the package we booked. They have a little souvenir store where you can get soem tchotchkes, or you can spend it on alcohol at the bar which is what we did. They give you a complimentary mai tai punch on the way in. The $16 each bought us each 2 drinks, they were right around $8 each.

I think the deluxe "cove card" gave us $25 to spend on drinks/gift store. Everyone gets a photo, so if you want to break up your group - do so. Like, I didn't need 4 photos of my entire family (like what do my kids want with that?) so we just broke up our group as we wanted. The souvenir gift was a small cooler bag. I suppose great if you need something like that for vacation to take a few drinks down to the beach or something. Or if you're driving around and you want a small cooler bag. I usually keep 3 in my car if I pick up food somewhere - they're a good size for plate lunch, but otherwise, probably nothing you'd ever use again.

Can I ask which credit card? Thank you.
Chase Sapphire, paying cash was even less than what the paradise cove quoted me. And my points are worth 25% more when used towards travel expenses so kind of 25% off. I couldn't find a rental car deal with the card, but this seemed like a good deal.

That's what I have. Not quite sure how the points work. I will look into it and do some research.

Thank you. I am able to use my points. After booking it, I still have some left. So, I am look into other tours. Totally forgot about my Sapphire card.

We arent going for another 2 weeks, but are doing Paradise Cove since they have a 25% off coupon in the entertainment book. I have read mixed reviews, but feel like it will be fine for us.

We have gone the last 2 summers and enjoyed it both times. My daughter loves all the preshow activities.

That was a big part of why we chose it too. If were there when it opens, is there time to do it all, or do we need to prioritize? We're doing the deluxe seating if that matters.

Also, are there any roaming photographers I.e. could we get a group pic someplace besides the entrance that we could get as our free pic? Since there are four of us, we really don't need four of the same pic.

If you want to do everything get there right when it opens. My daughter loves to make anything with the flowers so we end up with headpieces, bracelets, leis and ankle bracelets. They also do a canoe ride that was alot of fun. I kind of knew where it was so had my husband ask where the line would start and he waited. They were in the first group. They have a lady who takes pics out near the Paradise Cove sign by the water. They come out nice but not free.

Awesome info!! Can you give me a rough idea of where to head for the canoe ride? Did you get very wet?

Looking at the water it was to the far left. There may be a canoe on the beach. I asked a worker where the line would be for the canoe ride and he told me to stand right there and we would be first. So while my daughter was making yet another floral thing, my husband stood in line. I think they did it around 5 or 5:30 and did not get wet at all. They all loved it. We had my husband, (2) 13 year olds and (1) 11 year old.

Sorry so big, not sure how to make smaller. See, lots of floral things to make. Also notice the canoe in the background. Just ask someone in that area. They loved it.

Aw, your daughter is so cute :) This is awesome!! We were already planning to do a canoe ride at some point, so to get an extra one is a total bonus!! I was wondering about going in dresses but if looks like it was fine. Glad I'm not the only one who insists on wearing aloha wear on luau night! :) Thanks so much!
