So I found a townhouse in Paradise Cay on VRBO for our trip. We stayed from 11/21-12/14.
It was a 3 bedroom/ 3 bath townhouse. The place was nice and clean. It has a full kitchen and laundry in the unit, which was very important to us. Having two stories to spread out in on our downtime was nice. I can't imagine having 5 people stuffed into a small hotel room for almost a month. Plus I like to cook and sure don't want to go to a laundry mat.
This place was great. It was quiet and our condo looked out to the lake. The owner was great in answering any questions or problems that we had. It's a gated community and felt very safe. I like a good deal but I don't want to be somewhere unsafe. I'm not really concerned about someone robbing myself or the place while I'm there but while I'm gone is different. I felt at no time would I have to worry about someone messing with the condo while we weren't there or my range rover while we were asleep.
We paid about $70/ night for the trip. This is including taxes and the cleaning fee. This was including Thanksgiving week but we also got a discount because of the length of our stay.
The location was great too. It's just off 192 so tons of restaurants, stores, etc... Walmart and Publix was right down the road. Most importantly, Disney World was only a few minutes away. I think it was about 4 miles from our place to Disney property. We would pull out the neighborhood, make a couple lefts, and just a couple minutes later we were at Disney World. I'm sure that we made it to the parks faster than a lot of people who were staying on property and waiting for Disney buses.
I'm not sure if we're supposed to post links to exact places but I will if we're allowed.
Overall I had a great stay and I would highly recommend it for someone wanting more space than a typical hotel room (on site or off site) or someone wanting to save money on their lodgings, especially with parties larger than the family of 4 people that Disney seems to cater too.
