Hi again, sorry to be bothering you all with these questions...

I am just trying to work out a vague itinerary for the few days we are there, so far I have got meals and parades in and doesn't seem much time left... maybe have to skip a few meals.....would Breakfast and late lunch work?

Anyway - my original question - how long before a parade should we start to wait, how will we know where to wait, and is there a good 'spot' anyone can recommend. I want to see the Pixar parade in DCA and the christmas one in DL - luckily I have 2 evenings.

I am not sure about the later stuff as will depend how my son fares, he'll have just flown in from NZ :upsidedow so am wary of jetlag!!!

Thanks again everyone :flower3:

I would say 15-30 min to get a good spot w/ no one in front of you.
For the Play Parade, I personally like a spot by the Sunshine Plaza, but it gets really crowded there. Being closer to the end of the route, like in the middle of Paradise Pier, the crowds aren't that big.
For the Christmas Parade, I personally like being on Main Street bc it feels so Christmassy there.
As for meals, if you're getting up early in the morning, then breakfast and a late lunch is good. I find that when I eat breakfast, I'm usually not hungry for lunch. But if you're going to wake up later, then you can do brunch and eat snacks throughout the day.

When the park is open late, the Christmas parade runs twice daily from Small World to Main Street at 3:30pm and from Main Street to Small World at 6:30pm. 15-30 minutes should be sufficient time to get a good view in Disneyland. Please note that the Pixar Parade is a very watery parade. They will squirt a lot of water, so keep that in mind with cameras and camcorders. A good place to avoid getting wet is right by Sunshine Plaza, but to get a front row seat there, you'll need to arrive at least 45 minutes before the 5:15 start time.

I was there for peak summer season this year. Was able to get a front row spot for Pixar Parade about 5 minutes before it started. I was in the plaza area, but not where there was anywhere to sit on a curb or anything. The part with the curbs and some kind of better place to sit filled up a lot earlier.

Thanks everyone - good to know we don't have to park up for an hour or more. Better find a space to sit though :rotfl: feet may be tired by then:woohoo:
