Parade Viewing

We would have a difficult time sitting on the ground to see the electric parade, and am not sure we want to stand for 45 minutes. Are there any areas where we could be seated (restaurant, bench, etc.) where we could see the parade? How early would we have to arrive, if so?

No. The paid pass areas require sitting, but you can come in 5 minutes before start and just sit during the actual parade. I might be wrong, but I thought they required people to sit in the free viewing areas as well.

There are benches around the hub area that you can sit on. People will sit on the ground in front of you.
On low crowd days, some of these spots may still be available an hour before the Electric Parade and Harmony in Color. On busier days, they may be gone 2.5 hours before the parades, especially the seasonal parade.

Tomorrowland Terrace has an actual terrace that you can sit at to view the parade pass over the bridge. CMs may come around and ask people who have finished eating to leave and some days, the entire terrace may turn into a standing viewing area so there is some risk to trying to view the parade from here.

You could just "stand" at the back and then sit or stand at your leisure. Everyone in front of you will likely be sitting.

There are some ... waist-high ... planters / garden beds (?) in various spots which you could potentially lean on. You're not allowed to sit on them. There's one close to the entrance to Splash Mountain and I think also near Belle's cottage?

We always found a standing area behind the sitting people that had decent views just before the parade started, but this was during less busy times, so might be different if it’s busier.

Ask a CM where you can stand, often there are markings in the ground where the sitting area ends. Since you will be behind the sitting people you are more removed from the parade and I found that therefore you actually have a better view of the floats even if you are not in the front row.

Last time we saw the parade right at the start from the Fantasyland side, a little down the parade route towards the hub. Walked up after parade had started and had first row standing.
