I've heard all the reports about getting to parade routes very early to get a good viewing position. What if being in the front row is not a priority and you're okay with standing perhaps 3 rows back. How early do I need to be there then? I'm talking about summer parades - I'll be there in a week!

You can find a 3rd row spot 5 minutes before the parade begins, not in main st but between Frontierland and Liberty Sq
Just be prepared to be in the sun for 25 minutes in the afternoon parades.

Another good quickie spot--take train to main street--hang out by the barber shop--it is the tail end of the parade--and if you have children--the likelyhood of making eye contact with characters is greatly increased.

We were there Easter week and I was able to get a decent spot a few minutes before the parade started. Not front row, but we could see just fine and it sure beat staking out a spot an hour beforehand.
