I am planning a trip this summer and I have a 17 year old with autism who is very agitated by crowds, especially when he has to spend a longer time in a crowd. I am wondering if there is any reasonable way or location for us to watch the parade in MK? I would be happy to consider a paid option (we are definitely planning to do the fireworks dessert party seated area for the same reason). Or is the parade something I should just plan to avoid altogether?

Genie+ offers Festival of the Fantasy Parade as an option. It says "See parade-viewing CM at the courtyard in front of Cinderella Castle during your arrival window .... entrance will be directly behind the Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse "Partners" statue.

We usually choose to watch from Frontierland, it feels much less crowded even when folks are lined up. We find a place on the Country Bears side (shade) and look for a trashcan. DS then sits between trashcan and me and I give him enough space, but not so much someone would try to squeeze in. The trashcan protects his space. Then after the parade everyone disburses and heads to rides while the HUB and Main Street remain full the the bulk of the people.

I too have a 17 autistic son going to Disneyland and want to see fire works with the projections on the castle. We’ve purchased dining packages for everything else but what do we do for fireworks?
