We will be at DL next week. Until today, the Celebrate! parade was scheduled for 5:30pm each night (M-Th). Which I had planned and would be perfect with my kids schedules. Well now it has changed and it showing that it will be at 7pm every night. The park closes at 8. Does this sound right? Is it a parade that they do in the dark?

We saw it in the dark in Sept.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I would think that they are showing the parade later in the evening to make up for the lack of fireworks in between halloween time and Christmas time. It is what seems to make the most sense to me.

Yes, I suppose that does make sense. I hadn't thought of that. It just throws my schedule off. And after all, it is all about me! :rotfl2:
(TOTALLY kidding)

Just found the answer to the reason the parade time changed! Was reading Darkbeer's latest column over at MiceAge. The time change has to do with DCA closing at 6:00 for MTOTP. The masses of people leaving DCA along with evening crowds arriving for a few hours was creating havoc. Here's what Darkbeer wrote:

"The Un-Parade will be offered at 2:30 and 4:30 PM instead of the normal 3:30 and 6:30 PM times. Having the last un-parade at 4:30 has Main Street clear shortly after 5 PM, before the masses show up. The 6:30 PM showing, drew crowds on Main Street and the Hub from about 6-7pm. Because so many guests were entering Disneyland at the same time, it created a large traffic jam."

Here's the link to the column:

That makes sense, but TOT will be over next week. Although I guess the same logic goes for DCA closing at 6. Pushing the parade to 7 ensures that there isn't a traffic jam.
