I also request cookbooks and craft books that sometimes are more plentiful then another on the best seller list.
I do too.
I have heard that other books are more hit & miss, in terms of book condition. A very popular best seller may arrive to you well read. Also, every once in a while a read dud will show up, in which the trader will NOT give you back your credit. The PBS team, for the most part does not get involved in negotiating back credits.

Also, when you join, make sure you set your profile to NOT publicly show your home address and private info ON your profile webpage. PBS recently made this glaringly stupid web security breach. You join to trade books and find PBS has been trying to change into some social networking web site, and which may post your private info on your Profile page.

You can absolutely swap cookbooks. I've read nothing that would prevent you from posting your church cookbooks as well. I went on and did a search for "church cookbooks" and noticed several that appeared to be of this type. Your church cookbooks may not have ISBN numbers, but you can post non-ISBN books manually.
You can also probably advertise in their "Book Bazaar" forum or their Cooking forum that you have unusual, rare cookbooks for trade for a credit. As long as the books are within PBS's Book Condition guidelines, people may want your cookbooks.
Do be aware, that if there are food stains on the cookbooks, you have to Private Message the person requesting the book, with any book damage & stains so they have a chance to refuse the book.
