Probably a really basic question that everyone (except me) knows the answer too....

I've seen where people tear paper for their pages. Seems like whenever I've seen it, you could see the color of the cardstock, but then the "center" was white.

We tried that the other day for dd's scrapbook, but no matter how I tore it, the center was the same color as the cardstock.

Am I using the wrong paper? What should I look for?

TIA!
Karen

Depends on the paper you buy. Printed paper is almost always white when you tear it.
Heavy card stock, such as Bazzil is color all the way through.
If the back of the paper is white then it will tear white.
If you find it is too harsh and would like to soften it use some chalk on the edges.

I also just bought wonderful paper to tear, don't know the name :sad2: But one side is one color the other side is a matching shade. When you tear it you see the other color!

Also remember to rip towards you so you see the more rough edge...
Hope that helps!

Hard to explain, but here goes..... depending on how you tear it, you will either see white or the paper color. Holding the paper in your two hands, tear it AWAY from you with your right hand. By doing that, the piece in your left hand should look torn, but not white.... but the piece left in your right hand should look torn WITH a white edge. HTH................P

Some cardstock (Bazzill, Stampin Up) is colored all the way through, some (like Close to My Heart and some(?) Provo Craft) have a white core/center.

I have some Close To My Heart paper, and it is white in the center. I used some of it for the character swap, and I'm going to try to use some in my Dymo label maker so the letters will show up in white.
