Paper or Plastic tickets?

I booked through Costco and just got my package this week. All 4 tickets are plastic

Win Seattle the Disney store still sells tickets and they are plastic, 3 day, 5 day and annual pass. That was in jan, I could not get them only because that is when the dates ran out and the new ones were due the same time we were leaving. So I went to Safeway, they had 3 day and 5 days, had to go to several before I found them, only again because the dates on the back of tickets were expiring. I finally got them. I know in California safeway is called Von, not sure what other stores sell them but I have seen then even up here in Seattle in several stores, when I went back to our Disney store they did have the 3 and 5 day tickets to Disneyland.

We bought DL tickets through a reputable European seller and received paper tickets. Ack. Does anyone know if you can exchange them for plastic tickets at City Hall or some other place? Little fingers will want to handle these tickets and I am pretty sure they won't hold 5 days going in and out of FP machines if the kids will handle their own tickets.

No. Disneyland's tickets they give their guests are the paper tickets. They don't stock plastic tickets except APs. Probably a huge cost saver for them.

I'm planning our first family trip to DL. We are WDW veterans. The last time I was in DL was 1995. So my question with all this paper plastic talk is "they don't use Magic Bands in DL?"

What do they do if your paper ticket does start to fall to pieces with use or getting wet on one of the wet rides? Can they issue a replacement?

We are getting Dapper Day tickets and I sure hope I can get plastic cards for 5 day park hoppers!

This pretty much would be my next question as well if you can't trade paper for plastic tickets. Will they at least issue replacements?

The tickets are not paper. They are a special material that is much sturdier than paper. We have never had our tickets fall apart, even after a multiple day trip. They do get a little beat up looking, but have never torn.

If you buy thru the Dapper Day site and have them sent to you they are not plastic. We went this past DD in Feb and got paper tickets.

I just booked my package two days ago (5-day PH and resort hotel) and confirmed with a Disney rep that they will be the plastic cards.

Glad to hear! I've always had paper tickets and they're a pain by the third day with how worn they are.

I use a lanyard each trip so I can store my park ticket, fastpasses, some cash, etc. in the plastic pouch. This has been a great solution for me personally as it saves the ticket from getting mangled in a purse or wallet, getting wet, etc. but is still handy for when I need to pull it out and use it for getting fastpasses.

Me too! Though mine still gets a bit mangled with pulling out my PP each time we stop to get a picture :tink::D

Thanks, everyone, for the ideas and suggestions. I will try Safeway and see what they've got, since we are staying at CCI and not doing a package.

Reviving an old thread with a clear answer: IIRC park hopper "Souvenir" tickets are plastic, if the site selling the package or tickets doesn't explicitly state that they are souvenir tickets then expect paper.

I assume this would apply to military tickets purchased at our base, too? I'm thinking about lanyards....

I believe the only time we had plastic tickets is when we purchased from Safeway.
