How many use paper plates or plastic plates. i have been debating this as I have a great plastic set taht is for camping but then I really don't want to do dishes.

So should I do paper or plastic? lol

Honestly,

I will cook while camping over dining out to save money.

But on vacation, I HATE doing dishes.

Disposable plates, silverware, and cups all the way.

I try to leave as little pots/pans to wash as possible. That's why the charcoal grill is great.

Just one man's opinion (speaking as the chief cook and bottle washer). :laundy:

We use the heavy plates, bowles and cups we buy at Sam's Club. They are great and hold up even for cutting steak with no cutting through. Silverware I need real thing over plastic.

Our plan is to use both.

I have the plastic set made out of 100% recycled plastic. It has plates that are the perfect size to hold paper plates. No PBA or melamine in it. [Yup, I'm the weird one like that.:)]

So the things that will be super mess, paper over the plastic for easy clean up. Things that won't take forever to wash off, just the plastic.

Real silverware though. I don't like the plastic kind either.

I will be bringing at least two real plates for microwaving any leftovers. Paper plates and soggy leftovers spells bigger clean ups for me.

Paper and plastic disposable everything, but, I need real knives.

Paper plates 90% of the time with real silverware and Melamine (40+ years old) for things like steak or juicy meals. We stay away from any disposable plastic stuff unless it's clearly biodegradable and green.

We use a mix: real cups and silverware and bowls, but for plates we use paper ones...the thin flimsy kind that we use those old school paper plate holders with. Plates are just so big for washing in the little sink and I feel ok about disposable since I buy the non-coated ones and go for recycled content when I can.

I am no fan of cleaning dirty dishes but the amount of paper/trash we generate bothers me. We use plastic dishes, silverware and paper napkins (I'm not totally insane :lmao:)

cruising spud- Too funny! We have a real blender too!:rotfl2:

We use disposable MOST of the time.
However, I refuse to eat steak or 'dippy eggs' off of paper plates.
We use real coffee cups and I drink my wine out of real wine glasses.
Mixed cocktails and everything else, what else?
RED SOLO CUPS!!!!

On regular camping trips we suck it up and do dishes. We cook out for every meal and I really don't mind doing them and think of it as part of the experience. And we strictly tent camp so we are heating the water over the fire and using tubs to do it.

However, at Disney there is a whole lot more to do than just the regular camping experience. I wouldn't want to spend that much time cleaning up.

We are now paper over platic - plates and silverware. Frist few years were plastic plates adn real silverware, but dude, when I have choice between spending time cleaning or parking, it is way faster to clear everything into the trash, hop the boat and have fun. it's 15 minutes or 1/2 hour per meal... That's alot of time in the parks

Now if we are slow camping, I tend to use more plastic plates.

We buy the 101/2" heavy paper plates, bowles and sandwich plates at Sam's Club and use them at home sometimes and 90% camping. We feel the saving of hot water and soap covers our cost.

And, we always use a real blender when mixing drinks. Never a paper one.

:rotfl:
we like to use paper plates/bowls, real silverware (it's easy to wash) and my one coffee cup in the morning...It always seems funny that we use more disposable garbage while camping than at home( at home we don't even use paper napkins:thumbsup2)
