I've built up a nice pile and I can not seem to get it put away. If feels bad. I hate paper. We get most of our bills as ebills. This is other stuff.
Most of it must be kept. Ugh!!!

I feel your pain, first I thought my PC would cut down on the household paperwork, then I thought eBills and paying on-line would cut it down, then I end up printing out receipts of payment, then the animals records seem to be a blizzard in the house, then the catalogues & flyers come, I finally put a cardboard box right next to the front door and 99 % of the time it goes from mailbox, to cardboard box, to the street for recycle day. It kills me all those trees :scared1: I try very hard to file the "must keeps" as soon as the paper comes into my hands but its tough. Now I designate one day a month to sit & shred and decide what REALLY must be kept and maintain a great file system. Truth be told you don't want to see my table right now...well actually you CAN'T see my table right now !

Ugh, this is my biggest struggle in keeping the house (and my office at work) clutter free. The school is the worst offender! My 1st grader brings home 10-20 pieces of paper a day!! I even signed up for the email newsletter and notices hoping it would cut down on some of it, but no, they still send paper copies. Then there are receipts for things I *might* need for warranties, taxes for next year, you name it. It's a constant struggle with me, I feel your pain.

I just got out the shredder. I made a whole bag of things to be shredded.

I have the same problem, only now it's been really multiplied. My dear father passed away in November and I'm the executrix of his estate. The man has financial papers and bills from the 1980's!!!:scared1: I have boxes and boxes of stuff to be shredded. I will probably burn up his shredder and mine trying to get rid of it all.

I have a basket where I keep current bills (they can't all be e-bills for us), letters, receipts and flyers. I'm amazed at how quickly the pile grows! If you ever figure out what to do with all of the stuff let us know. Sometimes I feel like just lighting a match.

I'm drowning in a sea of papers--my business, the house, personal...I really try to keep it under control and the mail carrier comes! lol

years ago I started to scan everything into a .pdf, then it hits the shredder.

since we have recycling bins, they will take shredded paper.

a seven year file storage fits on a thumb drive, as well as on my backup hard drive.

(not to mention that I have also scanned all our old family photographs)

Paper beats rock.

Instead of filing, I have been using binders. It's been so much better than filing. At "back to school" time I bought a ton of cheapie binders along with dividers (not so cheapie), and I have never been this organized. I highly recommend it. :)

thats actually defeating the purpose of going paperless.:cool2:

the idea is to REDUCE the amount of paper being used!;)

and if the binders are plastic....

(oil!!)
