Paper fast pass question

I've been to WDW using both paper Fp's and the FP+ electronic option. Question regarding Disneyland- does the paper FP work the same as old WDW FP- with regards to: if it is 11:00 am and I pull a FP for RSR at 8:00 at night, I can get another FP at 1:00 pm-- or can you only hold one FP at a time regardless of the time between the FP's?

Currently FP at DLR works the same as legacy FP did at WDW (right up to and including time enforcement). One wrinkle I can think of is that you can hold FPs for both parks at once. So if you pull one at DL, you can exit and go pull one at DCA right away. The ticket just needs to have been used for park entry at one of the 2 parks.

Yes, it works as you are describing. If you have a long wait for a return time, you can pull another in 2 hours. The ticket will say what time you can get another.

Do be aware DLR has said they are introducing an electronic version of FP (very different from WDW) sometime soon, but to specific date is available.

Thanks! Hoping that electronic fast pass is not started before my June trip. I don't know enough about the park and wait times to plan that far in advance.

The electronic FP at DL will work exactly like the current system. The only difference is that you have the option to get them on your phone instead of only at the kiosk. So even if it's rolled out by your trip, you still won't have to put in the same amount of effort as you do at WDW.

I'm new to Disneyland. Been to WDW a few times. I heard that it may be happening before our May trip. That would be awesome nice to be able to get a fast pass without going to the ride.

Quick question - what happens if you pull a FP and the time overlaps reservations you've made at a restaurant or something? Is there a mechanism to "return" that ticket, and try again later? or do you just forfeit it until after that time (which could just mean you don't get one for that day?)

When you go to pull the FP, there will be a sign displaying what return times are being issued. If the time doesn't work for you due to meals or any reason, you can just not take one at that time, and try back later. If you have an existing FP and you're going to miss it for reasons outside your control (like if you got stuck on a ride that broke down, for example) you can try asking a CM if they'll sign off on your FP so you can use it after the stated time. I've never done that, but I think I've heard people mention that CM's were able to sign off on expired FP under certain circumstances.

Thank you so much for answering my question! I've never been to DL and I hadn't absorbed the key point that you can *see* what time they're spitting out! Lol, I thought it was just blind luck. Much appreciated!!
