PAP promo questions - assigning tickets in MDE?

I just bought 4 of the PAP promo tickets over the phone and the rep gave me a confirmation #. I went into MDE and it recognizes the number and will let me assign those tickets to my family members. Our trip isn't until November, is there any harm in assigning those tickets now VS waiting? They won't activate till we get to a park correct? The rep didn't mention anything about will call or getting an exchange certificate in the mail. What exactly do we have to do to activate them once we get to WDW?

I didn't get a confirmation email, nor can I find any proof of the ticket purchase on the dvcmember website. Am I just not looking in the right place or is there just nothing there?

No. You'll want them assigned at least by the 60 day mark so that you can make FP+ reservations. I'd do it now, while it's on your mind. Take a screen shot afterwards & write the confirmation number on it (just as a precaution). You can reassign the passes later if necessary (as long as you haven't activated them).

Just visit any Guest Relations or ticket booth to activate the passes. Your year of admission will begin when the passes are activated. All you'll need is a photo ID and your DVC Membership card. (Bring the confirmation number with you, too, but you probably will not need that as your passes are already associated with your MDE account).

No worries if you don't get an email. Just keep the confirmation number handy and if you are worried, also a copy of your credit card statement when the charge shows up. Shouldn't be necessary, though as your passes are linked to your MDE account (but I never completely trust the computer records even though I've never had anything disappear). I've always received an email confirmation - yours may still be coming, but I purchase online rather than calling MS.

Just be aware they might be given to other family members when you activate at the park day one. We had this issue on our last trip with new APs.

But as Carol said, best to do it now and definitely need to do it for FP+

Thanks for all the tips everyone. We just bought our tickets today, and although our plans are still uncertain, we're excited to use all the benefits! Haven't been to the water parks in a few years, and I've always wanted to try that golf course!

They can't activate until you visit Guest Services with your IDs if you bought them with the DVC discount. We tried that because we forgot about activating them.

To expand on what CarolMN said, to activate your APs all four of you will need to go to a ticket booth or GR, and in addition to your DVC Membership card everyone age 18 or over will need photo ID showing the same address as the DVC owner.

ETA I don’t think we’ve received confirmation emails either when buying or renewing our APs over the phone, but I think the CM read me a confirmation number so I could write it down. We did our last renewal in person at GR, and they showed up in MDE immediately.
