Panini Grill Maker

Does anyone own one of these appliances? I was thinking of asking for one for christmas but was wondering if they were worth having. I would want one with the removable grill plates for easy washing. If you have one which brand would you recommend?

I have a panini duet from Wolfgang Puck (HSN) and we love it. I make panini and quesadillas frequently, and it doen't take up much room. The plates pop out so you can put them in the dishwasher. I'm not sure WP makes them anymore but I bought a very similar one at Macy's for my friend and she loves it.

I did read a customer review which said that that it doesn't do grilled meats well (doesn't really get hot enough to sear) but I don't use it for that purpose anyway.

I have a george foreman grill and use it to makes sandwiches frequently, plus it also makes great quesadillas as well as grilling. You can get one with the plates the come out for the dishwasher as well. One appliance/multi-purpose, gotta love that.

This. Don't buy anything special, a George Foreman grill will do the job and is useful for other purposes too.

We have a Cuisinart Griddler. LOVE IT! I picked this one because I can open it up flat and use the griddle pans for making pancakes etc. The grills are great for panini or quesadilla. Both can be removed easy and put into the dishwasher.
It's probably used more than our toaster - we've had it for a few years now and it's a constant in our kitchen.
