Panic is setting in!!!

I have been plannin a Dec. 3-11 Disney Trip for a year! Airfare is booked and paid for---CSR has been booked for my family of 7 (with free dining pin code)!!! My DH just found out he may have to attend a 2 week "school" for his job---this would help him in his career....the kicker is it is scheduled for Nov. 29--Dec 10th!! Are you kidding me? I am in total panic! My kids and I were SOOOO excited to go in December so we could see all of the Christmas decorations and I wanted to go before my youngest turns 3 on Jan. 26th. I am wondering if it would be impossible to change our reservations to the next week....I know this is going to really mess up all of my Disney Dining Reservations----I have booked tons of character meals and I am so afraid I won't be able to get them the next week at times my family needs! So frustrated and don't know what to do! (Except worry!!!)

Take a deep breath and try to relax. Things will work out. Give them a call and see if you can get things changed.

You may not get exactly the same of everything, but hopefully, you can get most of it.

until you know for sure that DH will have to go to the class. It would be costly to change your airfare, and if you do it then he doesn't have to go, you will be kicking yourself.

If you do have to change it may not be such a bad thing...

"The 2010 Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer & Dance Championships will take place from Saturday, December 4th through Saturday, December 11th at Disney’s Wide World of Sports™ Complex."

I read on Disboard last December that WDW is a good bit less magical than normal for those not part of the Pop Warner-related activities.

I never even noticed Pop Warner last year, of course I was staying at Saratoga Springs and they don't stay there.

OP, you could check online dining and see what you could book if you were to change your vacation to the following week. You could book them all as though you will be there then, just don't connect them to your resort reservation. Keep a good record of all the confirmation numbers and cancel them if you wind up not changing things.

If enough ADRs are available that satisfy you then check with Disney to see if you can modify your reservation to the later dates (keeping the free dining pin.) Keep in mind that the resort rates and some buffets change to holiday rates on December 17th.

Even if the first two areas can be worked out (ADRs and resort change date) you could have a lot of trouble and expense to change your plane tickets. It all depends on how you were booked and availability of flights.

We are going Dec. 12 - 19. Our accomodations cost at AKL are higher for our last 2 nights (but we were very fortunate to book with the monster rate pin code) and our Delta flights which were booked in June cost more than they would have if we had moved the entire trip to be 2 days earlier (but then we could not have used the monster code for our resort.)

Is your family of 7 yourself, DH and 5 children or does it include fewer than 5 children and other adults who could assist you if the rest of you took the vacation while DH (dad) went to his training course?
