I assume, but wanted to see if they were allowing the Pandora rides to use a Disability Access Service Card (DAS). We will be there on Saturday and wanting to prepare our plans either way.

Thanks

Yes. Just be prepared for a long wait on the return time

I was there opening day and they were giving them out. If the land get shout down then there was a CM standing on the bridge giving out return times ( I think it was a GR CM but never did it)

have fun

Great to know, we figure that the lines will be long and it will be a day of waiting around. We were there last weekend when they were doing AP and DVC previews, but alas we didn't get invited so we just ate and left to another park. This trip will be for our oldest who is a huge Avatar fan and has been patiently waiting.

Thank you for the responses!

You can watch the wait times for the rest of the week in the My Disney Experience App to get an idea of what your wait might be like. It may be quieter during the week than it will be during the weekend, but hopefully you can get some semi-helpful idea.

I've been watching the large Pandora thread on the Theme Parks Board to see any comments that might be helpful for people with disabilities. Some people were posting waits of up to 5 hours, but it's hard to say how long those kinds of waits will continue since it just opened.
Also, be aware that people have posted in that thread they had sometimes had very long waits in the Fastpass line (I think I read almost an hour) at times if the ride has been down.

I waited 45 minutes in FP line for FOP.So yes even the wait in FP can be long.

I wondered about this. My mom will
Want to ride but no way she could be in line that long in the middle of large crowd. It would be too much if it is loud.

So we would check in at attraction, get DAS and then be able to wait elsewhere (quieter) for the duration?

Yes this is how the CAS works but you first need to stop at GR and explain why you need a DAS in the first place and have them approve it for you, If you have not already done this.

At the ride, you get a DAS return time. You may do whatever you wish while waiting for the return time. Upon return, you enter the FP+ queue, but be aware there have been reports of longish FP+ queues as well. I haven't been to the new land yet so not sure what the queue environment may be like, but it's not likely to be a walk-on.

And just to clarify... you get the DAS from Guest Relations, and return-times at the attractions. Be aware the DAS return time is equal to the length of the standby queue minus 10 minutes, and you can only have 1 active return time. If standby is 3 hours, you'll have the DAS tied up for that long.

Enjoy your vacation!

Just a little more about the lines for FOP if any one is wondering.

where the FP and stand by merge there are ( 3 or 4 lines) that go down a ramp and 3 or 4 lines that goes up a ramp.

If you are using a mobility device they will put you in the Right line going down the ramp every one else it really depends ( it looked like they were having single riders in the center line) all the line going down would put you on the bottom floor, and if you went up the ramp you were either on the second or 3 floor ( the 3 floor you would go thought a door, and up one flight of stars).

after you get out you will go either down one or two flight of stars, or if you are at the bottom floor just straight out and then down a long ramp with a cut off of more ramps or stars. then you will wind op in wind treader ( unless they have it blocked off like they did opening day)

The stand by lines very long with a lot of swish backs, a few different rooms and a ramp that goes back and forth ( the bottom floor of the ride is really the 3 floor, of the building)

The FP line is still kind of long half out side and half inside, and up a good incline .

I only did the river one one time and they let my friend stay in her ECV and ask if she needed more time to get in and out of the boat she did not so we just went with every one else there was another guest right infant of us that did and they brought that guest to where they were unloading and let them load there, ( I think this is what happened)

Ok. I think I've got it

If the standby line is 3 hours, we will receive from that attraction a return time for 3 hours later. At which time we will return and enter that FP line and wait as if we had a fast pass? So if the FP line is 1-2 hrs, we will then wait in that FP line 1-2 hrs? Is it mostly like a FP then in a sense?

Yes, exactly like a 4th FP. except the return time is about 10 minutes shorter than the actual wait time, for some reason.

I'm wondering if these long lines will cut down within 2-3-4 months ?
I'm sure hoping so.
But thinking of mine train... likely not, lol. it wasn't till our third visit that we got to experience it..
I'm thinking mid September may be worth the wait. .... will be interesting to watch the summer.

If anything I would think they would stay steady or increase- people putting off trips or adding Pandora and AK to their schedules with their current trips. I wouldn't count on it coming down until HS opens it's new lands.

I'm expecting that the wait times will get much longer over the summer months. Summer is the busy time at WDW, and even though the parks are open longer, there are so many more people there. Plus, the afternoon summer thunderstorms close down a lot of the outside queues, so Pandora will get crowded inside quite quickly.

I'm hoping that I can take the ECV right through the queue and just walk into the last couple of rooms for the ride and then collect the ECV again afterwards.

DD has a DAS card (for her Asbergers) so we're envisioning that whichever of the two rides we can get a FP for when our window opens up in a couple of weeks, we'll go to the other ride and get a return time for that before joining the FP queue for the ride we were able to get. And you never know - we might be extremely lucky and be able to FP both rides. We're going 3rd week of September, incidentally.

Is Guest Relations located inside AK? Will we need to wait until the park is open to inquire about the DAS?

Yes it is inside. You can request it at any park so you could try on your first day at whatever park that is.
