Pandora FoP without fastpass

I am going to be in AK on 8/18. 8/17 is morning EMH at AK.

I didn’t get a FP for FoP on that day but got one on 8/21. I would rather ride on 8/17 and then spend 8/21 (entire day) at MK, where I also have an ADR for CRT.

So, I am thinking of trying to ride without a FP and then switch my FPs for MK on 8/21 if it works out.

What should my strategy be? What time should I get to AK? We are staying at Coronado Springs. It is close to the park if I recall...

There has been a ton of success posts on the same day FOP FPP drop at 11:01, 11:01, 3:01.

You can try to same day it right at one of those times. This could get you a FP and allow you to pivot the other day to MK.

I agree! This past Sunday I had a scheduled morning fast pass for FoP. Then I got a same day fast pass for FoP (for my family of four) for 1:30pm.

If you're going to ride at "rope drop," you need to be at the gates and through security 45 min to an hour before opening. This puts you toward the front of the line and you should be able to ride and be off within 15 min of actual opening.

If you're okay with only riding once, you could wait until the end of the day and get in line 5-15 min before closing and ride then.

I agree! This past Sunday I had a scheduled morning fast pass for FoP. Then I got a same day fast pass for FoP (for my family of four) for 1:30pm.

Would I be able to try and modify my Navi river journey FP+ at 11:01?

Yes you can.

If you RD 45 min prior, you should be able to do FOP and Navi in the first hour or so than attack the rest of the park. You can then try to modify your Navi at 11:01 and try to get on FOP again with FPP.

It’s worth a shot. Or...if Navi River is your third scheduled fastpass, as soon as you tap in to the river ride, try right away for FoP additional fastpass. You just have to be persistent with refreshing. Or as others have stated, try rope dropping FoP or right before park closes.

It is the day after an EMH morning. We are planning to hop over to Epcot in the evening for dinner and illuminations. I missed illuminations in December and we definitely want to see it this trip!

That’s our typical touring plan as well...animal kingdom in the morning and part of afternoon then hop to a different park. That’s good you’re seeing illuminations. I think they are retiring that show in a few months. I forget the exact timeframe.

If all else fails, you’ll find the shortest waits just before closing time. On our most recent visit, the actual wait near the end of the evening was 17 minutes. The posted wait was 110.

If park opens at 9:00, you'll want to be leaving closer to 7:30-7:45. You want to be AT THE ENTRANCE around 8:00.

I would switch them. Make FP+ for your AK day and then for MK on the 21st.

Since you have hoppers, if for some reason you don't get to ride on this day (highly unlikely unless you sleep in), you can always try again on another day. Get up, go to AK EARLY, ride FoP and then hop to your park of the day.

How do you do it? This is our first time at AK since Pandora opened. We are not morning people and have never rope dropped, but FoP is a top priority so we are willing to do it!

Just modify one of your fast passes. It make take awhile to get a FOP, but keep refreshing the times. Make sure you don’t have the other Pandora ride or it doesn’t work.

Will it work if I modify Navi or would I need to delete that one first? My thought is to ride it first thing after FoP and then change Navi to something else if I don’t want to ride it again. My Navi FP is in the morning, starting at 11:30.

I’m not 100% certain but I’m thinking it would work if you modify Navi. But not if you use a Navi FP and FOP would be in your first 3.
