Pandamonium, Pixie Dust, and Paraphenalia!... What was I thinking! updated 2/1!!

We had the bus pixies helping us out... because even though it was 6 by the time we got there (much later than my OCD self had planned) there was a bus for the Contemporary sitting there just waiting for us!! Really! we were the ONLY ones on the bus when it pulled away!!:cool1:

We got to CR in plenty of time for our 6:35 ADR. We even had time to use the restroom and freshen up! We waited about 10 minutes to be seated. I did buy the picture... but I don't have a scanner, so I can't really show you:confused:

The food was really good. I think the kids may have wiped out Mickey's chicken nugget supply..... I couldn't even guess at how many they all ate!

Soon Mickey and the gang came by for pics and autographs!
Wyatt wasn't too interested in Mickey, and didn't want a picture

Goofy... well that was another story!! Wyatt almost knocked him down he was so excited and was hugging him!!

You know that invisible wall that at some point you always hit at WDW??? The one that really does a number on 1st timers, who don't expect it??
Ya think Jen found it tonite???
745501508_V8Kdu-L.jpg

Its a good thing she isn't reading this....I don't think she'd be too happy that I posted that:rotfl2:

A good time was had by all at CM. We took the monorail around to MK. Wishes was lighting up the sky and it was quite magical watching as we rode.:cloud9: Once we got to MK, the girls and Warren had gotten their 2nd wind and wanted to ride a few rides since it was Extra Magic Hours night. Jen did too...which suprised me, since she really seemed tired! Everyone, but me, needed to use the restroom. So I told them I'd meet them back there, but was going to run into City Hall to upgrade Allison's tix to an AP!

I got a nice suprise when I did too!....

FLASHBACK to September. I had bought tixs thru undercover tourist before the price increase in August. When I went to upgrade my tix at DTD (yes I had used it) they showed me exactly what I had paid for it and who I had bought it thru and only gave me credit for the purchase amount.... not the current price. I was pretty bummed, cause it made my upgrade more expensive than I had expected. I didn't know that they were doing that. My expiration on the card was the date I had bought the tix (August) not the day before (Sept 28) when I had 1st used it. Another shock. The lady said that was how they were doing it now.:confused3 I even double checked the next day at MK.... and was told the same thing...EXCEPT that the expiration date WAS to be a year from 1st use...so I got that fixed.

Back to the present.... I planned to just upgrade Allison's ticket since she will definately be down again in February. We want to take a fall trip for MNSSHP next year, but that's up in the air. It cost me $150 to upgrade my AP...so I figured the same for Allison. The CM I got at City hall was soo sweet! She did the upgrade and it came to $200!! For JUST Allison!! I must have looked really shocked (because I was). Then it dawned on me....I forgot to give her my DVC card.... DOH! It was only $100 to upgrade her. She told me that the DTD CM was wrong and that's not how they do upgrades.... so for $100 I upgraded Ellie's too!!! yay!!! Now we HAVE to go in the fall! (insert sinister laugh here!!) PLUS...the girls got the FULL 15 MONTH expiration date!!!

I took my lovely new APs out to meet up with everyone else. Wyatt was beat, as was Jen. So the 2 of them decided to head back to Kidani. The rest of us stayed at MK.

We hit up several rides.
BTMRR (disclaimer.... not 'my' picture...I couldn't find one I took!)

We shopped a bit on Main Street, then headed back to Kidani about midnite.

Thanks for reading!!
Paula

I am so glad I found this. Your pics are stunning. I just bought my first DSLR-Nikon D60. I am going to take a class at the local Community COllege this winter I hope.
Before reading this I was on the fence between BC and KIdani. I am now solidly in the savannah. Love, love all the pics and the animals.
Sorry some crabby 10 yr olds are not feeling the magic....

Im joining a little late, but joining non the less! All of your photos are absolutely amazing, you have really captured some amazing photos of AKL/Kidani! Glad Wyatt "cooled off" after his swim! Look forward to more :thumbsup2

Never too late!! Besides, I just finished day 1 so there's lots still to come:thumbsup2 Thanks for joining in! It would be hard not to take some good pics at Kidani...it's wonderful! The sad part is...I have 100s of them...which makes it hard to decide which ones to post!

Looks like a fun afternoon! Loving your pictures as always. :goodvibes

Thanks C!! It was nice. I wanted to get to spend a little timeat the resort and enjoy it....I guess I just didn't expect it so soon:lmao:

What I wouldn't give to be at a pool in Disney right now. :rolleyes1

I love those snakes! That is like the snake in Robin Hood! So cool.

Those Snakes are very cool....they do look like the one in Robin Hood...i guess Disney Snakes all look alot alike, because I thought they looked like Kaa from Jungle Book!

Sigh. What gorgeous pictures of Kidani, Paula! I really like the proverbs on the walls -- I think my kitchen needs some of those.

For some of us, there is a thin line between voodoo and fertility dolls. I am with you -- since I have had my two, I would take voodoo over fertility. :lmao:

:lmao: There is a VERY thin line!!
I really like Kidani much better than AKV. AKV is so grand and beautiful .. but Kidani is more like 'home'. It's warm and cozy and homey:cloud9:
I feel like I fit in better at kidani.... cause I'm more homey too:rotfl2:

You and me, both! :rotfl2:

Absolutely fabulous pictures around the lodge! :thumbsup2

Thanks!! I was glad I wasn't drinking anything when I realized I was admiring fertility dolls.... It would have comeout of my nose:lmao:

Nice updates. :rotfl: at the Fertility statues. And your Lion King pictures look nice. I like them. :thumbsup2

Thanks Meeko!!

Hi Mary!! Thanks for joining in!! Congrat on your new camera! Beach Club is lovely..and it's proximity to Epcot can't be beat. But that said... the views at Kidani are amazing, the rooms are all shiny and new... and they have direct bus service. the only park that is a bit of a ride is MK...(and DTD) but the rides were much shorter than I expected!

The Crabby 10yo.... well..... he does get better.....eventually.....:rolleyes1

Paula

You got some great pictures of FOTLK and Chef Mickey's! I love front row on EE!!! Poor Jen was so exhausted!

:rotfl2: CP, I had the EXACT same thought!!

P, WooHoo for the AP bonuses!! Looks like you had a fun afternoon/evening and even Wyatt doesn't seem too "bored". The swim break must have done the trick!

Paula -

WOWSA! What a great mega update. I remember now that I started reading this yesterday morning and decided I would be late for work if I let myself get sucked in (I was late anyway - but that's a whole other story. I'll blame that on the snow! ). So, I actually only saw about 1/4 of the pictures. They are freak'n fabulous. I can't believe the FOTLK pictures - probably the best non-professional pictures I have seen.

It sounds like you all had such a great day - the resort, the pool (where is everybody? - its empty), AK, and Chef Mick's. I guess the boys weren't loving Chef Mickey's all that much - but they are boys, afterall.

I think you have really been mixing up your days quite a bit with such a great variety of activities. You are doing a great job keeping everybody entertained.

I also love the pictures at AK - I have never seen the stone crocidile before. I must find that!

Oh Paula!!!!!! WOW!!! What a great set of updates!!!! WOW!!

I LOVED all your Kidani pics!!! Yippeeee!!!!

I think me may have sat at the same table at CM when we were there in Oct, I have to look at my pics to check the view again.

You mentioned buying the photo at CM but not being about to scan it. DId you get a photopass CD? There's a photopass # on all the pictures you buy at the restaurants and you can add it to your CD!

That picture of BTMRR pic is absolutely fantastic!!! WOW! Your definitely need to enter that in one of the photo contests! I truly think you have another winner!!!

I think this may have been discussed before but what kind of camera do you have? Also, ya wanna come teach me a few photography skills?! :lmao: Actually, I've been looking into taking a photography course at the local community college! I'd really like to do it so we shall see!!!

I love mega updates...even if it takes me days to read it.

Your FOTLK photos turned out so well!

What a productive day you had, you really did get a lot done.

I love the picture of the four of you at MK EMH's!

he was much better...more refreshed. But I think he was really worn out til dinner was over!

Thanks MEK! It was a pretty good day all in all! I'm glad I had the sense to switch gears midday.... i think it made allllll the difference!

I was wondering where everyone was at the pool that day too. It was pretty warm...not hot by Florida standards, thats for sure.... but plenty warm enough to swim. The crowd was picking up a bit by the time we left.

the stone croc (or Dragon...which is what I thought it was...the lone survivior of the 'mythical creatures' land) is on the right side of the bridge, camp M&M bank of the river as you walk toward Camp M&M
kudos to Brookelizabeth.... I saw it in one of her TRs and Jen and I went looking for it, or else I wouldn'thave known it was there either!

I wish I'd have known that about photopass... cause I DID get the CD!

I thought I had put a disclaimer on that BTMRR pic... Its not mine:sad2: I didn't take any of it, and felt silly posting pics with all the other rides and not that one. Sorry!! Its actually off the photopass 'stock photo' CD. Which I had purchased to add a little oomph to my digital scrapbook. I went back and added the disclaimer...so no one else thinks its mine 9i'm so ashamed that I forgot!!)

I have a Sony Alpha-100 DSLR. They don't make them anymore, but the alpha-350 is very comparable. I love my camera! If the comm college program doesn't work out for you... I'm taking a course on professional photography from New York Institute of Photography (www.nyip.com). It very comprehensive, but they have another one thats much less expensive and is geared to the hobbyist. I went with the other one, since I had taken some basic day-classes before thru Ritz Cameraand wanted to expand on that.

thanks forthe compliments! I thought I had a pic taken that night with just the girls too.... but I guess I didn't, cause it's not on my CD:confused3

Opps!!! Don't worry about it!!! That definitely will add some omph tp the scrapbook!!

Thanks for the info on the photography class!!! Online might be great for me because my fear with the community college is paying to take the course and then not being able to get to some of the classes no one is available to watch the kiddos!

I have a Sony Powershot sx10 is. It's more of a bridge camera then a DSLR, most of the same features as DSLR but no lenses etc. I keep having visions of a Nikon D5000 dance in my head though!!! Yeah, I'll try to convince DH of that right after the add-on :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

The nikon is a great camera!! Good luck talking him into that! I went with the Sony because it was compatible with my minolta lenses. Now that I've learned more, its frustrating, because Sony is much more limited in available add-on lenses than nikon is. But that said, I do have 4 different lenses formy Sony...and my eye on another one :rolleyes1

If I were buying from scratch today...nikon is def the way I'd go.... the pricetag on that 5000 is sweet! I'm tempted to just go ahead and buy it for me,just to get a foot in the nikon door! I've been eyeing up the Sony A-900.... unfortunately it retails around 3K...so definately not in my current budget. But a girl can dream!

This trip is all her.. She picked CM and Askerhus and it picking what rides/shows she wants to do. We may even take a ride over to Fort Wilderness and see the horses on our MK day. Especially since she will probably want to go back Sun nite for EMH anyway. She loves horses!

I've been having some issues with her and gymnastics practice.... shes currently very burned out...and even though she says she doesn't want to quit... she doesn't want to go to practice either:confused3 So who knows how it will all shake out. She took some time off over the holidays and hopefully she'll be good to go come Monday. Worst case senario, she quits.... but INEED to get out of the cold...so we will be going to WDW regardless, (She doesn't know that.... I told her that we are only going for the meet and if she quits, why would we go??)

See you all later!

Well my friends, we have made it to day #3!! Our 2nd full day which was also MAGIC KINGDOM DAY!!

The top of our itinerary today...Meet the Fairies and Princess Tiana!

Unfortunately...we had a little trouble getting moving this morning, so we ended up arriving at MK about 10am. Since I wanted to knockout meeting the Fairies first... we hopped the train and rode it to ToonTown.

A pic of the Station

It had been a while since I had taken the train, and I had forgotten all the fun things to see!

Look...I DID have a BTMRR pic....I knew Idid!

We waited about 45 minutes for our Meet and Greet. Itseems long, but since there were 3 of them...it was sorta like waiting 15min for each:thumbsup2

I amused myself taking a couple pics while waiting....
753805148_iWoPw-L.jpg

The Fairies were fun... Tink asked Wyatt if he was a Pirate... because of his earring:rotfl2:
