I am definitely interested in buying some Pampered Chef products and went on their website to locate a consultant. Anyone here know what the pros are to hosting a party? Like how much do you have to sell at your party to start getting free or discounted products? I am considering hosting a party if I get a good vibe from the gal who contacts me and if I can rally a few friends. It's kind of weird cause I am a Creative Memories Consultant and I don't want my friends thinking "Here she goes again, trying to get us to buy something..." But it's been years since I have bought anything Pampered Chef and I think their products are top notch. Thanks!

I don't think there are any cons -
unless like my case everyone around you is just 'pampered chef'ed out'

You get a nite with the girls
You get to eat (someone else cooks)
and they usually have good specials
and you get free stuff!

I think they have a great start-up kit, and a reasonable program.

Their products are FABULOUS!!! I would be lost with out my veggie peelers...not to mention the turn arounds for storing scrapping supplies.

Once you get people to see the value of their products, they keep coming back for more and more.

They do have alot of great specials...more than most companies out there...for the customers too.

I would say go with it. Try and find a good sponsor. That is really the most important part.

Someone mentioned finding someone who is high up in the company, or well respected. You will get more help and knowledge that way.

Thanks ladies for your responses; I don't want to become a P.C. consultant, I just want to host a party. Just was wondering what their incentives were for doing that- you know like $20 in credit if you sell $200 at your party or something like that.

I don't recall the exact incentives from my last party -

But I know I got a lot of stuff - and I didn't have to ridiculously big of a party!

They also have 1/2 price items and things like that! Definately worth having a party!

I don't remember the exact numbers from my party, but it wasn't an extremely large one and I did get a lot of stuff free. I felt it was definately worth it! Good Luck and have fun.

Honestly, the whole catalog is must have. And I am speaking as a user of the products. I honestly don't know what I would do without my kitchen tools - they make being in the kitchen simple and easy.

It really depends on your needs, but here's some must haves to check out.

Food Chopper - This is the best product. You can chop so much with this in such a short amount of time. You can do any vegetable - no more getting emotionally involved with your onions, for example - do cooked meats. I mean this and the Ultimate Slice and Grate can take the place of any Food Processor. It's top rack dishwasher safe and comes with a 5 year warranty

Stoneware - we are famous for our stoneware. Stoneware is the best baking piece - better than glass and metal. It cooks evenly, you can't burn stuff on it, its porous so those ice crystals from French Fries are drawn away so you don't get soggy fries and you don't have to turn them. Best of all - easy to clean! Never put them in the dishwasher, just run them under warm running water and use the little pan scraper that comes with it if necessary to get any residual off. You can cook anything in a stone that you can in a glass or metal pan. Find a piece that you can try in your kitchen and just try it. If you are looking for a good Try-Me piece, look at the Stoneware Bar Pan. Totally multi-purpose. Not only can you do bars, but you can do chicken breasts, pork chops, tater tots, french fries, fishsticks. You can do entrees, appetizers and desserts on this piece.

the food chopper is a must have......it is expensive but it is guaranteed remember that.......
also the stone wear is guaranteed......
the little roller for pizza crust or a pie crust.....is a great tool....just made a pizza today and that little roller helped me to roll it out....
I bought three or four of those little microwave dishes ......also got some of them for mother and mother in law so they do not burn themselves with stuff coming out of the oven......
I think if you look at any of the products you will buy with confidence and the guarantee is awesome.....

I threw all my cookie sheets away and only use my pampered chef stoneware! I love it... and it is different from the other stoneware that you can buy out there, much better! I also love my food chopper and my self sharpening knife. No one I know has hosted a party in a long time, and I don't have the room to host one....but I love getting invited to them!

YES! You just need an consultant. You can go on line and request that someone contact you, when they do just explain that your not interested in having a show, but want to order product.

Went to my first party tonight. Had a great time. I saw some things I was interested in so I am having a party in April. I didn't buy much. Just the pan scrapers, the soap dispensor and a small recipe book. I also got a free adj. measuring spoon. My daughters really liked the apple peeler and the cheese grater, so we are putting them on our must have wish list.

Hope you don't mind me asking. But I have a piece of stoneware that has a big crack down the middle. Do I need to contact my former consultant? I doubt I kept the recipt. I did the party back in March 2002.

Well, my party is set for 2/22 and I got my little packet of info yesterday. I don't think I even know 40 people to invite! (The recommended amount they say in the packet). I will probably invite about 12 or so, and let them know to feel free to bring friends....my Mom already said, "I'm doing it........I'm buying the pot and pans set!" That gives me a pretty good start on sales, wouldn't you say?

I know I want a couple of the stones, the chopper and few of the little things.

Alice28 - I highly recommend that you sit down and think about the people you know. It doesn't have to be 40 best friends - just any 40 people who eat! I usually send my hosts a flyer titled 40 Friends in 4 Minutes because people think that they don't possibly know 40 people total.

The reason you are asked to invite 40 people is because we find on average only about half can come. If you can get 15-20 people to attend your show, you will have a very successful show. Plus, if you be sure to tell those who can't come that they can still place an order, you could end up with a lot of orders. In general, if you have 27-30 total orders, you have an excellent chance of having a $1000 show, which yields the highest host benefits and very high host bonus.

Here's some categories to help you figure out who you can invite:

~ Relatives and Friends
~ Friends you haven't seen in a long time
~ Neighbors - if you don't know them, this is the chance to meet them
~ Co-Workers
~ People who Love to Cook
~ People who Hate to Cook
~ Contacts through children
~ Someone who would love a night out
~ Spouse's co-workers
~ Church and other social contacts
~ People you play sports with
~ Your club members
~ Anyone who "owes" you one

The thing you have to remember is that NO ONE will ever be offended if you invite them, but someone might be offended if you don't. So make a list and if you still have extras, carry them in your purse and hand them to people you may run into.

Everyone loves Pampered Chef. Mention it to everyone because you never know when someone has just been waiting to be invited to a show. I have one of those people at almost every show.

Look at it as a Girls Night Out. Have fun.
