We are going on our first Disney Cruise (7 day Eastern) in May and we are considering booking Palos on Animators Palate night because that menu is least appealing to us. Is the light show that great that we will regret missing it for Palos? Thanks for the input. Terri, Charleston, SC

I have not been on Disney Cruise before (first time will be this November 30th), but I remember reading that the light show is only at the early seating. Are you at the early or late seating?
Also, if you are on the 7-day, you will be going to this restaurant at least one other time, anyway.

The show is at both seatings.

Personally I would chose Palo over ANY night in any of the restaurants and not worry about missing the show at AP. It's nice, but Palo is nicer. :)

First of all I need to clarify some misinformation.

The Light show at the Animators Palate is scheduled for your first rotation night in that restraunt. Whenever that happens to be, Early or Late seating, the first time you have dinner there you will have the show. The other times you dine at Animators there will be no color changing show. So if you want to see the show, make sure it is the First Time you are rotated into the dining room. Next, The menu on the ships changes often, so whatever you have been quoted as the menu for the day might be changed by the time your cruise starts. As for Palo's This restraunt is by far the most secluded and romantic on any cruise line that we have had the pleasure to enjoy. The food is wonderful the Guest Service is beyone Splendid. So make sure you plan on at least one dinner at Palo's during your cruise. PS The reservations shuffle at the beginning of your cruise is Mandatory to get a great reservation at Palo's

Hope that cleared the air and answered your questions.

I would suggest that you wouldn't want to miss AP... not because the light show is so great, but because that is one of the features unique to the Disney boats. You'll be talking about your Disney cruise and somebody will ask you about the AP light show and how cool is it? And you won't have an answer.

Thanks to both of you for clearing things up. That helps a lot in my planning for November.

Thanks for all the great info...I wasn't aware that the menus changed so frequently...we pulled menus from Dave's website and they seemed to be active for awhile. Guess we'll wait til closer to May to make any dining decisions...Thanks again, Terri

We missed the light show for Palo's and we did not care. Dinner at Palo's was so spectacular that I did not feel that we missed anything.

Ive also read that if Palos is the same night as Animators Palate, make Palos later so you can still have drink/appetizer at AP and see the show.

that is what we did had an early dinner time at Palos had dinner then went to AP. for dinner as well had another desert and got to see the show , we would not miss it it is neat ,,,
